Very relaxed ambience sitting out on the terrace covered by vines. The place was full but the staff were lovely and took the time to talk to us. We didn't feel rushed. We had large plates of salad, frites and omelettes washed down with a glass or two of rose. That was followed by delicious crepes, the best we have... More

The village of St Cirq la Popie has been elected several times as France's most beautiful. The Tonnelle restautant is situated on one of the small strrets of the village and has a faitly big patio. Specialities include duck in all forms ( magret, gésier, smoked magret, etc.) The salads at 15-20€ are huge and tasty. Service is ok, given... More

Came here for dinner on our first evening, mini bus from our hotel (Hotel Le Saint Cirq) after a long days travelling. Ok, the menu is in French, but we are in France! However it is reasonably easy to understand for those of us with little French. The "assiettes" are a meal in themselves, vast amount of food, great salad,... More

The food is simply awful, this was the worst food I have had in France. Added to this was a rude and arrogant waiter. I would strongly recommend finding somewhere else to eat.

Two points to add to the variety of comments below: 1) Yes, the restaurant, and menu, can be difficult to navigate if you don't speak French. But there is some delicious food to be had, and in a lovely setting. Some good salads too, for the non-meat eaters who arrive. 2) St. Cirq Lapopie is as beautiful and charming as... More

All the negative reviews seem overly harsh. Very nice terrace setting. Extensive menu, mostly green salads with duck/foie gras with a protein prepared in various ways. She had the crudités platter, I had confit and foie gras. Great to see big platters of greens and veggies. No English menu but our server spoke enough. Google translate also your friend.

We were sent here by hotel and were picked up and returned by van which was nice. The lengthy menu was in French and the waiter would not or could not translate for us so we had to guess what we were ordering. The waiter was arrogant and did not make us feel welcome. Big portions but served all together... More

Lovely terraced situation and reasonable portions but that's as positive as it gets. The service was arrogant and obnoxious and food very unremarkable and over priced. I have been visiting St Cirq for over 15 years and have watched it's gradual decline from creative, beautiful oasis to commercial tourist trap and this place is indicative of that. We stopped in... We were sent there by our hotel after dining at one excellent restaurant after another in the SW/ Dordogne region. This one was a big disappointment. It has a very lengthy menu with every sort of combination though lots of overlap. One comparatively expensive item with truffles did not have many truffles. Then there was a problem of receiving what... More

4th visit to this popular restaurant and once again we were not disappointed. Plates are generous and the food is well presented and very tasty. The staff seem to get a lot of stick for being rude, but that is not our experience, as with most places in France an attempt to speak the language is appreciated. We would recommend... More
