I went as a guest of a parishioner. It was fine but I suspect this is a local haunt and for those who love it they will always love it: no issue with that. There are plenty of nearby voices if this is not your local haunt. Very solid pub lunch choices. Food is fine enough. Service is okay enough.... More

Watervliet, NY -- the Arsenal is there, it was one of my first jobs. Commuted with my Dad. My work group used to go to lunch around the area. I don't remember the Purple Pub as being one of them. Anyway, when we drove up, it was in a run down area and I thought, this can't be good. BUT,... More

When our kids were little we went here with them and had many fun meals with pitchers of soda. Very much a local atmosphere but staff have always been friendly. Now we mostly do takeout getting our old standbys of breaded mushrooms, baked ziti, hot turkey sandwich or one of their fish dinners (salmon is the best) which come with... More

It was Friday evening @ 6:45, it was very busy and our party had 8 adults and 2 children. Our waitress was excellent and was there for all our needs. The meal however was just OK but we all had a great time there.

We are basically hooked on the same items each visit. Chicken wings, seafood pizza and antipasta. This establishment has been in business for years and the food is the reason. Nice relaxed atmosphere. However, there could be times when you may have to wait.

Following a wake, a bunch of us went over to the Purple Pub to eat. Nice people and nice (but quaint as you'd expect for a local pub). When several more joined us, they moved us seamlessly to a bigger table. The draught beer flowed, the conversation animated, the oven-baked chicken wings wetting our appetites while we waited, patiently, and... More

My family has been coming to the Purple Pub since it opened and I've enjoyed many visits to this establishment since I was a child. It's nothing fancy, but the food is consistently tasty and reasonably priced. These days I mostly do PP takeout, as we tend to want to avoid waiting for a table. I am a big fan... More

As I sit down to write this review, the theme song from "Cheers" jingles merrily through my head ... "Sometimes you wanna to go where everyboooody knows your naaame, and they're allllways glad you came ..." The Purple Pub inescapably reminds me of this kind of warm and inviting place, that melts worries and serves not just comfort food but... More

My wife and I have been going to the Purple Pub for years and love it. The food is great, consistent and filling. The bar staff is great to hang out with while you're waiting for a table to free up. I suggest you give it a try, despite it's crazy name!

This is a very cozy place to go to for dinner. The food is great, service is great. This place has very good pizza and wings too!
