We have spent a lot of time at Spiak's in the past, and never had any complaints, but have noticed recently that the food is beginning to suffer, Perhaps its a new cook? A pizza that we ordered was so soggy, the curst was not even crispy, and it was very salty. On a not so crowded Friday night, we... More

My father patronized this restaurant with his family since I was a kid and that was some 60+ years ago. I remember long waiting lines and many familiar faces. I have never stopped going there and eventually I also took my family. Alas, my own kids, now fully grown with families of their own, no longer stop here and eat.... More

Spiak's Restaurant in Watervliet is a fourth generation family restaurant. Their 'homes style' fare features hearty helpings of good food, all made to order. If you read over the literature in their menu, you'll learn that the original restaurant was an eating place for laborers working on the Erie Canal. The original canal went through what is now their parking... More

I have not been in here in a few years and the pizza did not disappoint. Perhaps it was better in the past, perhaps not, either way it was good. The soup was a bit salty, the service was, shall I say, "casual". The waitress, although friendly, was certainly in no hurry to take care of us. She did her... More

my husband and I went in march 2013 and it was so bad. The waitress was rude and acting like we were a bother to her and she was very slow,,,,, pizza looked like someone took a bottle of grease and threw it on it and the taste was so bad. Couldnt eat it... also got an appetizer that was... More

we went in a group of 8 on a Wednesday evening. The waitress was unfriendly, slow and seemed to be put out when we asked her for something. Imagine paying $16.99 for a sauteed veal parm dinner and you don't even get a salad with it? Imagine ordering coffee and the waitress walks away complaining she has to go make... More

Don't even bother. I usually write a review after 2 (or more) trips, but this place was awful. The service was depressing, the food (both of our entrees) was lousy, oily, gloppy mush. Ugh. How do they stay open?

We used to go to Spiak's, as a kid, for the delicious Italian food, but those days are gone. Too bad. The place is tired, the wait staff is tired, the food is tired, and the whole experience is tired. Not the friendly, poppin' place it once was. Even the clientele looks like they sat down years ago and never... More

My husband was really looking forward to eating a Spiaks tonight. The last time we ate here, we thought it was an "off night." However, we have now come to realize Spiak's is not what it use to be. Our meals tonight were mediocre at best. My husband's pizza crust was over cooked, yet the center of it was soggy.... More
