We stayed at the hotel. In the afternoon we wandered around Mirepoix and decided to have dinner at the Ciel d'Or. It was a wise decision. Fortunately for us it was a slow night; our booking came in between two periods when the hotel was fully booked. The chef owner came by our table early on and we were able... More

Admittedly reluctant to opt for a six course meal after several days of over indulgence, we nevertheless decided to treat ourselves (again!). Actually we needn't have worried - while there are six courses, the courses are small with the emphasis on quality over quantity. This is an epicurean experience and a delightful one at that. For those undecided, just do... More

We arrived in town tired and hungry and found several recommended restaurants closed or on holiday. Several open ones were not acceptable for one or another reason. Finally we found a gem. Food was amazing and service excellent. The menu included pork which my wife is not crazy about. They cheerfully switched her main course to lamb. In short it... More

My husband and I have been to the restaurant Le Ciel D'or for lunch on Fridays having the menu of the day and enjoying every mouthful, going for Sunday lunch and the Menu Degustation Unique was even better. At €57 (does not include wine) it may sound expensive and you can certainly find cheaper, but the menu is five courses... More

After traipsing around Mirepoix trying to find the restaurant, it was with some relief that we eventually found ourselves outside the candle lit courtyard of the magnificent 18th century Relais Royal hotel/restaurant and realised that we could actually see the car we had parked 1 hour earlier now a mere 1 minute away! We had been told that this was... More

My husband and I usually eat here on Friday having the Menu d'Jour for 22.50 euro pp with wine and coffee inclusive. It is a set menu so no choice but we feel it is really good value. The restaurant is in a lovely chateau in the middle of the medieval town of Mirepoix. It is very smart with white... More

We went for the tasting menu along with wine tasting. Food and wine simply exquisite. Pricy but definitely worth it as a treat. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We celebrated a birthday by having dinner here. It was a memorable evening with fabulous food and very good service. We had the Menu Degustation which was outstanding. I am very picky when eating out - result of too many business meals in world capitols - and this was really top quality: imaginative and creative menu, beautifully cooked and lovely... More

Had the tasting menu here. It was sublime, it was a soup starter, I can't remember exactly what the soup was now but it was so delicate and bursting with flavour, I remember there was coriander in it but unfortunately I can't remember much else about the ingredients, however that doesn't mean it was forgettable! I tend to find soups... More

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and now that the co-owner Roger is in the kitchen it's turning out some of the best food I've eaten in France. Inside the setting is really lovely. Outside is a bit industrial but you only eat outside if the sun is shining so probably won't notice. This visit we had the... More
