La Nina in Mirepoix is such a pretty little restaurant. Gorgeous décor and such a pleasure to sit in such lovely surroundings. The service was excellent, we were rubbish at trying to speak French (although we did try!) and the lady who helped us was very patient and understanding. We all had the most delicious pizzas. All freshly made, very... More

A family holiday treat this was not, appalling sums the food up & if the parents hadnt been with us we would have left. The decor warned us, naf, menus unreadable, food disgusting. Are seafood pizzas always burnt around the edges, raw in the middle with crunchy bits? Dad had the entrecote which was thin & tough as old boots.... More

This has always been one of our favourite restaurants since buying our house in the area almost four years ago.....it was very good then, and this is a plea to the owners....your standards are falling, your food is nowhere near as good as it used to be, and the service is haphazard at best !!! Loyal customers are voting with... More

As other reviewers have said, the location, exterior & interior decor etc is excellent, as were our starters. The mains however were inedible. Probably the driest, toughest duck confit in the world and this in the region that specialises in the dish. The steak was again, very poor. I should have consulted trip advisor and/or engaged my brain before choosing... More

The atmosphere and decor are very good. We got to enjoy our starters but as soon as the orders started piling up the kitchen went into meltdown. We had to wait forty minutes and endure shouting matches in the kitchen before receiving our main. it wad such a shame as this restaurant has potential. I felt sorry for the nice... More

We visited Mirepoix on a Friday evening in May, amazingly this was one of only two restaurants open in the town; we probably should have chosen the other one! Service was good, a friendly lady was welcoming and attentive. Most of the food was average at best, but my entrecôte steak was one of the worst I've had, certainly in... More

Mirepoix mid-week and out-of-season is a tough place for anyone wanting to eat out. All bar two restaurants were shut. Unable bear the thought of another meal at L'Imperial (see my review when I get around to it), we went to La Nina twice. Both times we were greeted by a warm welcome and cluttered but oddly attractive decor. The... More

I really wanted to like La Nina. We arrived with expectations of unpretentious, simple food, much like that served at the vast majority of eateries in the south of France in this price range. Having spent holidays in the southern French countryside for around 14 years, I believe we have a reasonably good idea of what is an acceptable standard... More

The chef does have a bit of an obsession with oregano but the food is still really good. We had duck and steak and it was really well cooked, great portion sizes and then two fabulous deserts to follow. For two 3 course meals and 2 glasses of lovely red wine in a great location 30 euros!!! Would definately go... More

Just plain bad food. Salads were sliced iceberg lettuce overwhelmed with dried oregano. Pizzas were mediocre; tomato sauce had way too much sugar. The pasta Bolognese was inedible; also way too sweet. Cotes d'agneau thin and overcooked, accompanied by haricots verts so overcooked as to be mushy and baked potatoes covered with cheese and herbs were too dry to enjoy.... More
