We stayed here at the Maru Maru Hotel for several nights. The hotel and food staff are excellent. Would have liked the food to be better but the ambience is fantastic on this roof-top restaurant. Either to dine or just having a drink, this is a "must" on Zanzibar.

Food was okay (seafood was best) but don't let them make you a margarita (they don't have the knack). They have varied entertainers performing each evening. Convenient, since I was staying at Maru Maru. Nice breakfast bar and omelettes.

great view, staff and dinner. Enjoyed prawns with couscous for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was just as delicious.

We enjoyed beverages and appetizers here one early evening. The service was outstanding! The best we had on Zanzibar and the food was good and reasonably priced (we were there during happy hour). Would definitely return again.

We ordered a seafood plate and precisely asked not to cook too long, more to have it rare than overcooked. Were very much disappointed to get everything overcooked and dry. Plus fish and seafood had a strange covering like if it would be cooked yesterday and just warmed up for us... Unfortunately staff were not helpful and made a grimace... More

noisy, bad food, worst music, service is very slow and badly trained. Food is scarce, bad quality and pretentious cook. The view is nice so go there, bring your food and drinks and enjoy.

The food was tasty, but the service was unbearably slow. We dined on the first floor rather than the rooftop restaurant, which may have affected the service. Although the hotel has an elevator, it does not go to roof & requires climbing a flight of stairs, which my companion could not manage.

Perfect spot to see the sun set in the ocean while you sip on your happy hour drink. You have a good with over the rooftops. The terrace are on a good spot if you want to continue your night to an other place after the sunset or to stay and have a good meal. Not an sensation, but good compare... More

Before dinner we sat in the lounge and watched the sunset sipping on cocktails and enjoying appetizers. Eating late allowed for the weather to cool down while eating in open air dining room. Menu offers many choices. Breakfast self-serve will keep you full for the day.
