Good service. Delicious starters. Reasonably priced wine. Fries, as you'd expect from a Belgian place were good - with proper homemade mayonnaise! But. But. But. The lobster dish was awful. Lobster is best served simply. Grilled or boiled. Any flavours should enhance but not flood the flavour. This was smothered in cheese, diced carrot, chopped zucchini/ courgette - and who... More

Dear Sir, dear Madam, I thank you for you review on TripAdvisor and for your visit to Loulou Restaurant last July 25th. I was very sorry to read that you did not like our "Rock Lobster" préparation but I would like to bring to your attention that our menu specifies clearly "Two fresh cigal lobsters topped with a gratineed soufflé... My friend and I stumbled upon this place by happenstance and were very pleased to find that the manager was American and the owner Belgian. We had great conversation followed by an excellent lunch. The food was wonderful and the staff friendly. You cannot go wrong adding this place to any Zanzibar itinerary.

We were in Zanzibar for 3 nights and had chosen another venue with a rooftop restaurant and sunset views for dinner tonight. However, on checking on TripAdvisor this morning, frankly, the reviews were less than glowing, so we just went there for happy hour drinks. Good enough. Conversely, Lou Lou Restaurant had uniformly positive reviews on TripAdvisor, so we decided... More

Lou Lou's was excellent. The owner was incredibly lovely and very accommodating. We got there just on opening time and her staff had not arrived yet, but she was so lovely, still let us inside and served us herself! The food was absolutely delicious, the fish was amazing. The restaurant was so lovely set out and had a very lovely... More

We walked in and were greeted by Marian Hart, the manager. She was so friendly and made us feel at home. I ordered the chicken croquettes, they were amazing. The frites were some of the best I have ever tasted! This was our last day in Zanzibar, what a way to end our vacation!

Our lunch was outstanding, best French fries ever.Surprised with a side of deep fried parsley. We asked them to turn on the air conditioning, so it was very comfortable. Marjorie

We found this restaurant after walking around in the heat. Marian loaned us a menu, that we did return, so that the rest of our group could have a look. We had a wonderful meal that night and also went back the next day for lunch. The menu was wonderful with a good selection of wine. George was welcoming as... More

I was craving for cigales when going in Loulou restaurant and it was just perfect. I enjoyed also very much a chat with the owner at the end of the meal. Friendly staff. The AC was off too but I probably could have asked for it. Free wifi. Thank you for this enjoyable evening!

A rare treat to find and eat at this very nicely appointed restaurant. Owner and Chef George(Belgium national transplanted to the island) is amazingly friendly and his cuisine is superb. We went two nights in a row since we enjoyed it so much. The first night we shared a Crab pastry appetizer which was plenty for the both of us... More

I walked into this restaurant with 20 000 TZS (about12$US) on me thinking that this would cover me for dinner. Alas my budget did limit my choice. But the waiter was very kind and suggest fish with vegetables and rice and a large beer was what I could get. It duly came and was indeed tasty. So friendly were the... More
