This was the perfect dinner for a romantic evening above Stone Town. My date and I were one of only two tables this evening due to our arrival at the tail end of the season. The view is fantastic, the food is incredible, the service was impeccable, and the price was more than reasonable. We would easily pay 2x-3x the... More

I scheduled via e-mail a dinner and was unable to confirm. Point to the hotel because it really was my fault have not confirmed the trip with my wife and went straight to the hotel. The issue is coming to the hotel, we have been waited about 20 minutes at the reception (the reception guy was arguing with the restaurant... More

Dear Mr Agra, With regards to your comments we would like to acknowledge your time and effort in making these useful remarks. However, due to limited seating, only twelve tables, and a daily changing five course tasting menu, we are only able to cater to confirmed reservations with a paid deposit. Dinner is prepared for the number of confirmed guests... More

We had a lovely dinner here having booked in advance (necessary). They charge $30 per head for a 5 course set meal but do check in advance if you have any allergies/dislikes. The staff decide what is on the menu based on what looks good in the market each morning and, although it is supposed to be 5 courses, each... More

it was my last night in stone town this week after a fabulous weeks holiday after our safari and I booked me and my husband into the restaurant at the top of Emerson Spice hotel. It did not disappoint. The host Russell was just charming and really made our evening thanks to his wonderful manner, hospitality and attentiveness. He made... More

Were here for a dinner during our two days in Stone Town. The view from the rooftop is breathtaking, the food excellent and the service outstanding. They even provide a guide for the way back to the hotel (we were staying elsewere). Very recommendable!

After reading all the great reviews about this place we decided to spend our last night on Zanzibar dining here. We popped into the impressive looking hotel, (after wandering around the kasbah in search for some time,it has to be said!). The receptionist was courteous and efficient, asking if we had any allergies, etc as the menu, changing every day,... More

Thanks to the management and staff at Emerson Spice for a wonderful evening at the weekend. I arrived just before sunset and sat high above the roof tops of Stone Town contemplating with a glass of champagne, listening to the muffled sounds from the streets below and enjoying the calls to prayer from the many surrounding mosques. Dinner was served... More

We had a wonderful meal at this beautiful roof top restaurant. The five course set menu was definitely among the best food we had on our two week trip in Zanzibar. The whole menu had a modern Zanzibarian feel, with beautiful presentation and local offerings throughout. The deep fried spinach leaf and quail egg starter was delicious. Each course was... More

We spent a fantastic evening at the roof top restaurant yesterday with friends. The 5 dishes served were great in taste and presentation: a wonderful impression of what Zanzibar has to offer. The service was excellent. The manager greeted us at the entrance, took us upstairs and introduced us to the restaurant staff who were all very attentive and friendly.... More

This is a magical place. The food is excellent as is the service. The restaurant has the one of the finest views in Zanzibar (perhaps the finest?). Our waiter/guide/host, Barack, was charming, knowledgeable but not in the least intrusive, a real asset to the hotel. I could write more but just read the other reviews! This really is as good...
