We splashed out on this 5 course meal for our last night in Zanzibar. At 35 USD a head it is pricey by Zanzibar standards but well worth it. the food is an exotic mix of fusion and local cuisine. If we were to criticise the meal I would say that it tried to be a little too clever at... More

From the very start, when being greeted downstairs, you are given a full sensory experience. The Hotel Manager took us upstairs, explaining the history behind the hotel and restaurant. We started with excellent cocktails while watching the sunset. Great use of local ingredients. Out of 5 courses, three were excellent, inspired dishes, while two missed the mark slightly. Great selections... More

I can't recommend the 5 course meal here enough! It was incredible! The view was amazing, on a rooftop overlooking Stone Town. The host was incredible with so much information on the history of the hotel as well as background on all the different foods. I would definitely recommend getting there early to see the sunset, as well as witnessing... More

From the dhow sailing past in the distance to the haunting melody of call to prayers; this roof top setting is the perfect place to immerse oneself in a quintessential Stone Town experience. Making good use of fresh local produce, the degustation meal was well-executed and well priced. As mentioned by another reviewer, attention to detail was a hallmark of the... More

The food was lovely, a fancy take on Swahili. The 5 course menu changes every night and is very affordable (USD35). Drinks range under USD10. You have to make a reservation and pay down ahead of time for the reservation or else you will lose it. The view is very nice but the one at the sister restaurant Emerson on... More

This is an evening you won't miss. The best time to arrive is at 6.15 pm because then you can enjoy the sounds of all the mosques and the sunset when you are drinking a cocktail. After that you will taste the most tasteful Zanzibar food on the island. The way the chef prepared the 5-course dinner you know he... More

After climbing 92 stair we arrived to the rooftop restaurant: Uncomfortable sittings, A sea of tin plated roof around, detestable ambiance, 5 staff talking uninterrupted ,making a noise, Very bed prepared cocktails, The food eaten was the worst since my 18 days in Tanzania, the explanation of the course was laughable. I have a suspicion about the TA COUNTERFEİT reviews considerably about... More

The degustation menu on the rooftop was amazing. Loved the chance to try lots of small exotic dishes that were all delicious. The setting is beautiful with a view over Stone Town and the sunset over the ocean. They were very accommodating with our young son too who had a bowl of Pasta instead!
