very nice waiters, ambiance and food

We called to make a reservation, thinking we would see the show at Mtoni. When we arrived they told us the show was only on Tuesday and Friday. We decided to stay anyway and they led us to a beautifully made round table on the beach. The waiter Mohammed was super nice! He helped us kindly. The food... read more

So, I got the seafood platter, which was fabulous! There's no one two people can eat the whole thing unless you have a BIG appetite. Thank goodness that we had to big restaurant cats help us....ha, ha. It was my birthday, so I was really pleased with this place. They also have some native music live, which is also a... More

It was my wife's birthday on the 25 July so we went to the Mtoni Marine Restaurant for dinner along with our son and my visiting sister in law from Australia. I really wanted the evening to be special and Mtoni Marine delivered the goods. The table setting on the beach was beautiful, the food was very delicious and the... More

I never usually post bad comments online, but our experience at Mtoni Marine restaurant last week was the WORST of my life. My fiancé and I arrived at lunchtime to the restaurant. We were very hungry so ordered a main course 'combo' of ribs and chicken wings as a starter to begin. After one hour our 'starter' arrived. What a... More

We had a wonderful experience at the Mtoni Marine Restaurant. We had our wedding reception on the beach of this hotel and the restaurant catered an amazing seafood buffet for about 30 of us. It was an massive feast with so much variety and all prepared very fresh and delicious. All of our guests loved the food and they offer... More

All credits goes to Mwajuma who served us with beautiful service and charming smile. I highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately the first time I tried to eat here (at approximately 9:15p.m. one evening) I was turned away by the waitress who told me that there was a buffet open till 10p.m. but not much left! I was terribly disappointed as I'd come back early from Stone Town specifically to eat here and so then had to go to the... More

Wonderful setting on the beach lit by firelight. Food was disappointing and somewhat bland. Prices are at the luxury end, which is to be expected with the setting. Muslims should be aware that the restaurant serves a Warthog (pork) dish.

You wouldn't believe you were in Stone Town dining here at Mtoni. You feel a million miles away from town with romantic well-spaced tables on the beach. There were musicians playing traditional Taraab and a fire to add to the atmosphere. The food was different from the usual fare in Zanzibar, including a well thought out and inventive vegetarian section.... More
