My Favourite Place to Chill

This is a lovely quiet unassuming place to relax, enjoy good food and use their wifi. They have lovely shakes. The food is more Swahili, with pizza and pasta. The food is also very affordable. The service is friendly and slow this is Zanzibar though and the same could be said for most everywhere.

we had a meal here in jan 2015, whata great find in the heart of stone town, in a quiet area, lovely setting, shady and chilled vibe with great menu from local dishes to pizza, we stayed opposite and Jambos Guest House which is also great.

The place is a small and cozy with a terrace. The food is good and compared to the prices you can get in stone town it is a bit pricy than average but I think it is worth the price. the location is central and very convenient and they have a very good WiFi connection

I love the music, scene and breeze upstairs here (before 3:30pm when the sun shines in making it unbearably hot). Great food and juice! Wonderful free internet and they don't mind you parking it and reading for a while. I would give the Green Garden 5 stars but there is this one waiter now that is both bad and has... More

This is a pleasant small restaurant which serves reasonably good meals which are typical of Stone Town. The restaurant can be rather difficult to find! It is opposite the Jambo Guest House

Such a lovely and nice place to go to! They have some really delicious food for a budget friendly price! It's nice in the evening, for us it was like an oasis! Listening to the the awesome music with a cool beer, there is nothing better! Please send me the Song by Sal Davis which is in your playlist! I... More

This vibrant place is in an internal courtyard accessed by two alleys. It is right opposite the popular Jambo Backpackers and around the corner from the Flamingo Backpackers so you are likely to meet a cosmopolitan clientele at any time. There is a mezzanine floor which is great for taking a meal overlooking the garden and the diners below. There... More

I recently traveled to Zanzibar for an interview on the coasst. Upon my return to Stone Town I decided to visit this tranquil joint. I was totally amazed at the new look. Apparently it was closed for renovations during the low season and the old owner Yaz (charming fella) decided to revamp this place as he had been away for... More

Location is key here, being in the middle of Stone Town with concrete everywhere. You suddenly have this green oasis with palm trees and even a parrot. Cool backpacker type restaurant with cool music playing in the background. Prices are competitive and the owner is a really nice man. We ate here a couple of times and it is next... More

Green Garden is tucked away in a nice corner of Stonetown, it has a great atmosphere. You can relax on the couches upstairs or in de garden downstairs. The food is good, I had a nice vegetable pizza. The non-alcoholic cocktails are great. There is free Wifi, but it did not work with my phone or iPad, unfortunately.
