Go here for drinks and late evening live music on Wednesday and Saturdays. Food is ok too, as expected: a bit slow and staff service is typical for the island ie. not very attentive. Location by the port and on the beach, good to see the kids playing and the boats coming in and out for little trips.

The place has a nice view. The food was average and so was the service. We dropped in because of the Freddie Mercury connection and ended up a little disappointed. They just have some pictures put up on the walls and that's about it.

Would have been average but had to bump it up as the service and view were great. Price was reasonable. The pizza sucked but the curry was quite good and beer was cheap enough. Always important to have cheap beer and good service!

Since I arrived in Zanzibar I wanted to head over to Mercury's and check the place out, however being a huge Queen fan, I shouldn't have set my hopes that high. I really thought that this place would have a lot more Freddie Mercury and Queen related stuff around considering just how big the band was and in many ways... More

Had a pleasant enough meal. Service was ok and food was alright. Didn't feel they made enough of the Freddie Mercury connection. You could have been in any restaurant. Good view of the harbour. Enjoyed watching local lads playing footy on the beach as sun went down.

Such a lovely location and such a great name reputation - but food leaves much to be desired - such a shame - and very expensive too

Likes: Location, right on the beach. Wide menu choices. Food good, got a bit of atmosphere. Dislikes: Staff found difficulty in smiling, menu seemed rather international "fast food" style rather than Tanzanian favourites. Overpriced to catch the less discerning visitor. Overall view: OK if you don't mind paying a little over the odds for burger and chips.

Stopped into Mercury's before boarding the ferry to Dar (could see the ferry arriving so no need to rush). Great view and the staff were very friendly and helped me to charge my phone. Beer was cold and reasonably priced and it was great to read some of the history of Freddie in the menu. Would recommend.

Great welcome bar to Zanzibar. Easy walk from the ferry. It reminded me a little of the Schooner Wharf in Key West. The food was good, the beer was cold, and the prices were cheap. They even held our bags while we explored Stone Town before our cab whisked us away to Mtemwe. Bonus, they weren't playing non-stop 'Queen' on... More

Great view over the harbour, cold Kilimanjaro's, great atmosphere. Plenty Mercury memorabilia. Close to Stone Town for some shopping.
