You have to literally grab your waiter to get attention here, there is definitely no sense of urgency. The food portions are huge, which is lovely!

The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it's located next to the Zanzibar Ferry Port. Ah, and another one.... the bottled beer was OK and served ice cold. Been there for lunch with some friends recently. The food is something I would send back to the kitchen. The restrooms smell like it's in a... More

This is definitely the place you should visit in Zanzibar because of the great singer's name tribute. You can gave a drink while waiting for the boat to Dar es Salaam. A lot of tourists are there. Cannot say anything about the food but the juice I've had did not impressed me. The service is also slow because of the... More

What a fantastic idea to select the name Mercury after Freddy himself but oh what an insult . This little place is a hub for tourists and a perfect location but the food is shockingly disgusting, the service poor at best ,filthy dirty. It is not enough to have a great name for your restaurant you need to be serving... More

We were waiting for an hour so decided to get drinks at this place whilst we waited for our cab as its the only restaurant in site. The place was filthy with flies everywhere. We sat on bar stools and didnt want even our arms to touch their table. Even if it was the last place with food on this earth... More

We were desperate for a quick boat before boarding the ferry from Zanzibar to dar es salaam, unfortunately we made a bad error in judgement by ordering food from this establishment. The food was terrible (we had a bite each of the beef) and the restaurant was dirty. Fine for a drink from a sealed bottle but not fit for... More

The food was delicious but my friend fell sick the whole night, after we had been warned but we thought we would give it a try. They've got this amazing chili paste.

Freddy Mercury would probably turn in his grave. A blatant attempt to cash in the name? The food was reasonably priced and the setting couldn't be nicer... But an overall attitude that said " who cares". Wouldn't go back

A great place in general but...... This is named after Freddie Mercury and punted as where he used to eat - so get a good tour guide who will clarify all of that for you. The decor is great in terms of the old pics of the band. The view is amazing. A real tourist hotspot and a venue for... More
