You can not go to Stone Town and not visit Mercury's Restaurant. The location is super! Wright next to the Port with great views in the Day and in the Night, especially at sunset time!I liked the rustic look of the place...it takes back in the time when Freddie was sitting there. It has one of the richest bars in town. We had tuna skewers which were very over cooked with cold chips and a mixed salad which was swimming in vinegar. When we complained the owner said nobody else had ever complained. Difficult to believe after reading the other reviews on here! One of the worst meals we've ever eaten.

We went in there hungry at 3pm but due to the time, only pizzas and beer were available. The pizzas were good though needed to wait quite a bit. I would recommend it nevertheless as the place looked busy in the evenings and one of the oldest restaurants around Stone town. .

A real tourist trap living on Freddy Mercury´s memory....nice hard working underpaid staff but horrible lazy manager doing nothing,,the interior is so run down and dirty 1,5 h get a bowl of so called vegetable curry with no vegetable but with overcooked potatis...Change management, clean up and refresh, and stop the slavelike treatment of the staff

As we arrived at the restaurant it was quite full but we were still able to be seated immediately. Food isn't bad but the service surely matches Zanzibar's slow and relaxed life style. Packed with people from all over the world this is an amazing place to just chill out and have a drink while making some new friends as... More

We expected it to be a bit touristy, and it was. But we had a great table overlooking the water, so that made up for a lot. We watched the sun set as we sipped our cold drinks. We had lots of time, so the fact that service was slow (and it certainly was!) didn't worry us too much. We... More

If you are in a hurry with less than an hour to spend, then don't bother to come here. Although the food was good (I ordered Prawn with Chillies in Cocunut sauce), I waited at least 35 mins to get my order served. I think you should consider taking at least 1.5 hrs in this restaurant to enjoy the food... More

Nice view of the harbor and enjoyable pizzas. Out of some choices on the menu, but all 5 of us left full and happy. We each had a different type of pizza for lunch.

Mercury's was playing Freddy Mercury songs when we arrived. For twenty minutes I feared that was all they were ever going to play. But finally they changed to young Michael Jackson, someone I didn't know, Madonna, some other people I didn't know. We had to sit three tables back from the water, because the place was busy. The view was... More
