Tourist trap but you kinda wanna go anyway

Being in Stone Town everyone "has to" go to Mercury's to get the Freddy Mercury experience. Aside from some faded photo's on the wall and a guitar on the menu it doesn't deliver. The food and drinks were mediocre, same goes for service. We asked them to play some Queen and the waitress looked like... read more

I've been there a few times and have never been overly impressed with the service or cleanliness of the restaurant or bathroom, (Most times no soap or toilet paper). Although I have yet to have a full dinner or lunch there (only appetizers and drinks on a few occasions) I found it to be just average. Great view, but every... More

The location of this bar is one of the better venues in StoneTown. Right on the water and has just enough ambiance to make it fun. The drink service was great, fast and very friendly. Very nice place to just hang out and have a drink before going somewhere else for dinner. We ordered food - appetizers - and much... More

You want to tell that you have been to Mercury´s or you want to sit down close to the sea and get something cool to drink together with some sea breeze. That is the reasons to go to Mercury´s. The service don't exist, but the location is nice. If you get something before you leave it is mostly OK, not... More

The place is ok. Very conveniently located. The food is ok. They have people taking orders of food and drinks. Though they do not sell or make any type of recomendations. You even have to ask for a menu as they wont offer one. Once I got the menu. and had a good look at it. Decided for a dish.... More

You can not go to Stone Town and not visit Mercury's Restaurant. The location is super! Wright next to the Port with great views in the Day and in the Night, especially at sunset time!I liked the rustic look of the place...it takes back in the time when Freddie was sitting there. It has one of the richest bars in town. I... More

We had tuna skewers which were very over cooked with cold chips and a mixed salad which was swimming in vinegar. When we complained the owner said nobody else had ever complained. Difficult to believe after reading the other reviews on here! One of the worst meals we've ever eaten.

We went in there hungry at 3pm but due to the time, only pizzas and beer were available. The pizzas were good though needed to wait quite a bit. I would recommend it nevertheless as the place looked busy in the evenings and one of the oldest restaurants around Stone town. .
