Bar with a view

This bar didn't excite me. It was just a touristy bar from where you can watch ferries arrive and depart. I didn't try food there, as the dishes being served didn't appeal to me. Good selection of beers though.

Visited here for lunch and cold drinks which were very welcoming after a very hot walk along the beach.. Food looked good, but I wasn't very hungry and only had chips. View was amazing and the music was Queen. I've been a fan of Queen for many many years so I liked it. Some people don't. Would visit again..

Food was okay, but the staff is very limited with regards to people skills. They had no interest in helping us solve the growing number of flies that congregated around our table and food. Absolutely terrible. How about some friendliness and efficient service? If you are in a pinch go ahead and give it a try. If not, avoid at... More

we visit the restaurant because I love Queen . The music is very nice but the food we needed to wait very long time and it was just normal.

food very average, lots of things not available at lunch time but view is good ...would be lovely for sundowners we just stopped for lunch. Trading on Freddie Mercury's name - nothing Freddie about the place other than some tired photos on the wall... but then that was a bonus for me, not being a Queen fan :-0

I ate here on the recommendation of a friend, who says it is her favourite lunch spot anywhere, while waiting to catch the fast ferry back to Dar es Salaam. The restaurant is built on a wooden patio right on the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken and mango salad as well as the view of the activities on the... More

At the end of 3 week trip in Africa, we stopped at Mercury's for a quick lunch. Very poor decision. Chicken Curry - boiled chicken, minute rice and a sauce that tasted like it had come out of a can. LOTS of other choices for food in Stone Town. Stop by to buy t-shirt if you must, but then go... More
