We only popped in for lunch but the food was freshly made and tasty. Reasonable for the location and with a nice view on to the ocean, would recommend for either a quick drink or something to eat.

Arrived with no one really wanting to serve us as it was 2.30 and kitchen closes at 3pm. Tourist trap with associated prices

Mercury restaurant featuring big tree in the middle and some nice slogans pinned to its trunk is rather good for having a drink with friends. Our seafood was far below the expectation. The place was fool and the service rather slower that expected. Nice spot with a harbour view and just e reflection that Freddie Mercury was not a patron... More

Came here because it was my birthday and the barely there link with Freddie. We had a great time, the barmen are funny and made us feel as though we had been propping up their bar for years. We returned the next night to listen to the live band. Definitely an experience!! We had a meal which was ok but... More

This place probably lives off it's Freddy Mercury theme as opposed to say, service and food. Our waiter continuously made us feel bad about ordering food and told us repeatedly he was "doing us a favor". The food was mediocre at best and the beers warm. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Not the right place to eat fish. Overpriced and bad service. There are several other place in the island where you can eat better. Ok if you want to get a drink

Definitely worth to drop by to Mercury's for a sundowner while in Stonetown. Nice atmosphere and drink menu. Do get here a bit early before sunset as it can get busy

The food here is slightly more expensive than other places in Stone Town - however largely inexpensive when compared to food prices in the UK. I visited the restaurant three times over a three week stay - each and every time I got good service and very good food, although the portion sizes are slightly below average. The restaurant is... Been here August 2010 . Had lunch and a couple of nice and fresh beers. You can get a fisherman boat nearby to Changu Island. Great wooden place with a fantástic view. Still remember the smell of Zanzibar !
