We ordered the coconut crab meat soup and it did not disappoint. It was very delicious! It was followed by a seafood casserole which was equally delicious! Service was good, friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable. I just wish they have outdoor seating!

I saw some of the reviews bigging up the coconut craps soup so I had that. Really nice, highly recommend it. My wife had some salad, can't remember which but she gave it the thumbs up. The house white wine was lovely. Had the baked pineapple and Icecream for dessert, it was alright, more Icecream needed and in a bowl... More

The food at Beyt al Salaam is wonderful. I had the crab salad (to die for), and a main course. Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere... would recommend to anyone in stone town. Only downside was the wine list (by glass) was limited (one red and one white). Check this restaurant out! They also take visa or credit cards

My friend and I stayed for just one night in Stone Town at Double Tree by Hilton, which is very close to Beyt al Salaam. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and set a table for us by the window with lovely sunlight... As the coconut crab soup was strongly recommended, we just followed the " routine" which... More

We stayed in the Beyt al Salaam Hotel (see separate review), so had breakfast here every morning (with all that fresh fruit, eggs, pastries etc, it set you up for the day) and dined here twice. The menu is small but all freshly prepared and with an emphasis on seafood (as with most restaurants in Zanzibar). The coconut crab soup... More

As it happened, we were the only guests at the restaurant when we went and were doted upon hand and foot. Even the chef came out to talk to us and make sure we had an excellent experience. We ended up ordering the seafood platter for 2 (giant prawns, lobster, calamari and fish) and it was mouth-watering perfection. The chocolate... More

We had lunch one day and I had the coconut crab-meat soup. It is served in a coconut and is excellent. If you are in Stone Town this soup alone is worth the trip to Beyt al Salaam. We went back next evening for dinner. I had the seafood dish - also excellent. Nice selection of seafood in amounts that... More

This restaurant is now part of the Doubletree Hilton complex, but has kept its name. The other day we had lunch in this pretty restaurant. The food was excellent, the prices affordable, and the staff pleasant and customer-friendly. A definite must-try!

A beautifully decorated restaurant (in the boutique hotel above, although of course you don't need to be a resident to eat here), with the most friendly and attentive staff. The coconut crabmeat soup, served in a huge hollowed-out coconut and accompanied by crab-claws, was quite simply one of the best dishes I've ever had.

Stayed for 1 night with friends before leaving Zanzibar. We came without a reservation and were welcomed and shown rooms. We were given a reasonable rate, especially for Stone Town. The rooms were spacious and had a lovely Zanzibar/Arabic feel. We ended up having a wonderful dinner at the hotel as well. The meal was delicious and the service excellent.... More
