The food at 1974 - Da Giulia e Antonio is a true Italian experience. The food is well prepared and fresh. The atmosphere is relaxed and brings Italian cuisine to Mauritius. Prepared by Antonio and supervised by Giulia, it is truly good home made food

We nearly missed this place as a restaurant on our daily walk to get bread as it's not open in the day and only comes to life at night..... We were fitted in twice for dinner without a reservation. Giulia described to us the various fish of the day and other options, and the ways food could be prepared for... More

A piece if Italy in Mauritius that leaves one with a feel for Italian cuisine and hospitality. Unassuming setting, but loads of personal touch. No fixed menu, they will explain the daily specials, and even customize them for your requirements. One of a few places where you can find a good burratta. Wine prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit... More

Just had a great dinner at this hidden gem in Trou aux Biches this evening. I've seen good reviews on Trip Advisor on it, and over the past few days, i've heard this name pop out of many friend's mouths....so we tried it! We were not given a menu, but instead the owner (Giulia) told us about the dishes. This... More

This review is a bit late in writing but we had a fantastic dinner there in May 2011. It's a cozy little place and we went there without doing any prior research, nor did any of our Mauritian family or friends even know about it. Even thought it appeared very quiet every time we drove pass, we decided to try... More

1974, da Antonio e Guilia creates for itself a surprisingly large menu, given the limitations its owners impose - they create the menu that day, from what was available, fresh and good at the local fish markets (with some regular staples, such as a steak, for those not favouring seafood). The dishes were excellent, and sitting outside on the deck... More

I read the reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. And my verdict? Don't think about going there... just GO! The last time I gave a review about anything must have been over 10 years ago. However where credit is due I consider it my civic duty to tell everyone about it. I cannot express in words... More

Very high quality italian seafood dishes like tuna pasta with olives, capers and tomato. Seafront setting with friendly service. When i told them i was ill from eating elsewhere, they created a vegetarian pasta dish for me - thank you!

We got to the Restaurant with a reservations and were welcomed very nicely with a promise of a table in 10 minutes. We got a great table outside and were explained the menu by the owner. The food was outstanding. You can't go wrong with any dish here. Good wine list. Complimentary Limoncello at the end of the meal really... More
