My wife and I found this place reviewed and so decided to take a trip up the coast. We arrived a bit early and were worried when no one was there, but soon found the food and service to be amazing and the restaurant got crowded. This was our best meal on the island by far.

Cosy restaurant with very nice staff. Food is extremely good Italian. You should eat here the whole menu, because every dish is better than the last one! Recommended by us.

If you want to rediscover the seafood in an Different way it's the place to go! The Italian Chef Antonio propose a delicious seafood menu with Italian influence from south of Italy! You find some very rare food, a must try! The "Filet de Boeuf gorgonzola" is the best I have in mauritius. He also have very good choice land... More

We went to this restaurant because we were in the mood for Italian food and this place had great reviews! The cab driver was surprised when we said to take us to this restaurant, lol! Against his judgement we went, lol! We sat down looked at menu and I didn't see anything I recognized! No pizzas, no fettuccini Alfred, none... More

Dear Astill, I'm really sorry you didn't want to give a try to our restaurant. But please let me explain something: first of all, if some taxi drivers (not all of them luckly) are reluctant to stop at our restaurant, it's because we have never paid a commision to anyone to bring to us customers and we will never do.... We went there by chance because everything else was closed. We thought it was going to be expensive and touristy but instead we found just great food. Even with me having strange food requirements! They offered to make me a special dish that covers all my issues. We both really enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and we thought... More

Myself & my partner have been venturing out every night for dinner. 1974 was recommended to us. If you want a family run restaurant with great Italian food I would definitely recommend this place. The restaurant was very casual and it was nice being able to sit outside in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was yummy and we had a... More

I return to 1974 every time I am in Mauritius. Fresh homemade pasta combined with fresh from the ocean seafood, cooked up following Antonio's no frills "the more simple, the better" cooking philosophy and you have a genuine Italian experience with a Mauritian flare. It can be a romantic setting if you want, but Giulia is welcoming to all and... More
