This small Restaraunt on the main road to grand baie is really cosy and nice, you can expect service with a smile. We had a combination of creole and Indian food, the fish in banana leaf was the star of the show a must try. The prawns creole curry was good as was the Indian fare. As one of us... More

Chez Ram is one of the best address in the North of the Island to get tasty and typical Mauritian food at a reasonnable price. Service is good, location is not the best (near the road), but it is still worth a visit !

A simple setting and a quick meal in the true Mauritian style. A enjoyable meal , including fish in coconut , lamb curry and chicken in tomato and herbs , all at a very reasonable price.

Have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last 2 weeks And can definitely say that it's the best around. You must try the giant prawns in creole sauce. Mr ram and his sons do a great job.

We stopped here after my wife completed her tandem skydive for a bite to eat. Looks like an old local pub which would serve you good food and on arriving we were greeted by a son and father combo. After making a decision on what to have within seconds I had changed my mind due to the recommendations of the... More

All the positive reviews speak from themselves. My husband having been brought up in Mauritius can vouch for the authenticity and taste of the Mauritian dishes. All the food was extremely tasty and some of our Mauritian relatives who came with us, could not believe they had not visited this establishment before!

We were staying at Merville and wanted to sample some Mauriius food and our taxi driver suggested here. It was excellent, warm welcome from the son , as it is a familrun business. We let them choose what we ate. We a starter to share then we had fish called Capitaine( I think) and it was brought with a curry... More

This was the closest restaurant to our accommodation and had been recommended in our guide book. We tried it on the first night and went back a further two times due to the quality, value and service. Had a different meal each time and all were a great showcase of Creole cooking, using local seafood. Recommend the ti punch too!

Fantastic little place that you would miss if you had not read a TA review that says it is next to the Hindu Temple on Royal road. We arrived and immediately given a pineapple punch (no alcohol) bread, garlic butter, chilli dip and 2 papadoms. The menu is huge and sea food is the speciality. We had prawn cocktail and... More

We had a memorable meal at Chez Ram the other evening. The Marlin salad was by far the best we had in Mauritius. The fish was very fresh and delicately smoked in chunks rather than the paper thin slices we'd had elsewhere. That was followed by Dorado in a delicious coconut sauce and cooked in a folded banana leaf -... More
