I have a feeling Le Capitaine has struck some sort of a deal with the local taxi drivers because almost all of the cabbies we asked, told us it is the best restaurant in Grand Baie. I don't think so though, after me & my friends went there for lunch. The location is very nice, by the water, and the... More

We found this restaurant after we had starters at selfish and found the food and atmosphere disappointing. Couldn't have found a better place, right on the beach, jazz music and fantastic staff. Good variety of dishes on menu - at table of six we all chose different dishes (fillet steak, duck breast, confit duck, tiger prawns, octopus curry and dorado... More

Fully recommend this well situated restaurant by the water edge. Next to the road yet totally protected from dust and traffic noise. The service friendly, efficient, food good and winelist well chosen. Not recommended: the profiterolles filled with icecream making them chewy and soggy. Prices not overly expensive for a holiday resort.

We had a bit of a problem finding this restaurant. Turn left in Grand Baie when you reach the sea and its on the right overlooking the bay. We had a good scallop and prawn starter followed by 2 fish mains and a dessert. We enjoyed watching the boats moving around in the bay. The service was good and we... More

We have had the most amazing dinners at this restaurant. The service is great and the food is amazing, every time. Their seafood is just about unrivaled. If you are looking for a romantic evening out, I would suggest them for sure.

We usually just come for the coffee which is one of the best we've had in Grand Bay. The food is not bad, quite expensive for the amount you get. We received very good service every time and I'm sure we will continue to do so in future visits
