Nice setting, wonderful view, nice music but food is not as delicious as some years back (I used to go quite often). It is now expensive (for local standard) and targets mostly tourists.

Bad food for the 4 of us. From the starters to main courses. Bad taste, awfull presentation .Terrible service, minimum required, especially when we said no to wine.the waiter was really angry to work that public holydays! Titles on the menu sounds great, your plate arrives and you get only a fried squid, cold, pale, unknown batter..where is the special beetroot sauce... More

Not sure why this place gets such bands reviews. We had lovely fresh properly cooked tuna steak and great big fresh grilled prawns. Staff we're attentive and polite and the bill including bottle of wine and water was £62. All this and a decent view over the bay. Give it a try.

We had a tasty meal here on a Friday night. Right away things started well when the proprietor made me a custom rum punch-I mentioned that most I had sampled elsewhere were too sweet, so he produced a lovely lime+rum+soda concoction which was gorgeous (Ti Punch, I think)-good enough for a second! I had grilled Dorado wrapped in banana leaf... More

One of the best restaurants in the Grand Baie area! Sits on the waterside, great views. Service wasn't the best, but the quality of the meals made up for it!

The baby octopus salad was great but there it ended. The remaining 5 courses were disappointing to say the least. We complained about one of the dishes (aged prawns in a tomato sauce mostly from a tin judging by the taste) and were given a free dessert. However, the bill was still a nasty shock - just under 90 pounds... More

We had a very nice meal at La Capitaine, the mussels I had for starter were some of the best I've ever had. Two of us had dinner, 2 courses each and a bottle of wine and our bill was just under £100.

The food was good and well presented. The location overlooking the bay is lovely. The service is very efficient but not particularly friendly
