Mmmm the cookies & Sfogliatella

We visited on a weekday midafternoon & tried a variety of the pastry and espresso. The place was quiet; the counter worker was friendly and helpful. I love macaroons and fell in love w. the chocolate covered offering at Caruso's. Espresso was great as are the cannoli. The lemon cookies taste just... read more

Took an old friend out for an espresso and grabbed a bunch of pastries to go. Caruso's had the feeling of a real Italian bakery. Black and white checkered floor, a couple old men talking about the old days and an unbelievable smell. The espresso was perfect and we grabbed a bunch of mixed pastries to bring to my in-laws.... Stopped for pastry and cappuccino. The waitress was very pleasant. The pastries were so good. Would highly recommend Caruso's if you need pastries or café cookies.

We stumbled upon this bakery after having lunch in the area. Walking in you felt like you entered a page from a 1950's Life Magazine. The selection of hand crafted backed goods and pastries was very good and we proceed in buying two boxes of assorted goodies. Each of them proved be light and tasty; and not too sweet.

Everyone in Utica has their favorite -- two Italian bakeries within a block of each other on Bleecker St. You can't go wrong. We love the pasti and the cannoli at Caruso's and have been stopping by for over 45 years… our first dates were the coffee and a pastry! Don't let the small shop, with just a few tables,... More

Fantastic bakery, you feel like you've been transported to Italy. The almond cookies are fantastic but the real star is the Cannoli cake. We ordered one for our wedding reception and it was perfect. They even delivered it to the reception hall.

Received a tray of mini pastries from friends; the lobster tails were beyond description, everything was delicious. Wish we had a bakery like this in SC, but then I'd be the size of a house! Enjoyed everything I tasted, outstanding business creating mouth watering desserts.

Did not care for my is it to Utica but Cafe Caruso was the one good thing about the visit. I stayed at the nearby by Hotel Utica and went out for a run in the morning and ran by here and thought it would be worth a visit on the way out of town. First off, it is not... More

If one ever has reason to be in Utica, New York a visit to the Caffe' Caruso is more than worth the time. This is a real Italian bakery, doing business out of the same storefront for nearly sixty years. The coffee and pastries are wonderful, with the many varieties of biscotti our personal favorite. Carm Caruso carries on her... More

Had a mini ricotta cheesecake baked in a crispy pastry crust, drizzled with chocolate and topped with toasted almond slivers. Divine! And the sfogliatelle is a work of art and so yummy. Cappuccino and pastries are a Sunday ritual for me and my husband and we've tried other places but this is the one to beat! Great atmosphere. We feel... More
