We hadn't been through Utica in several years and tried to remember the old family owned Italian restaurant t where we had had a nice meal. Couldn't find that one but found Ventura's instead. The host/owner was so pleasant and we found out his parents had started the restaurant in 1943! His daughter and son work with him now. The... More

Phenomenal greens, wheat pasta hats, chicken cacciatore, lasagna, sausage, and funny enough, the best meatball pizza I have ever eaten. Marinara is superb and owner gave us a complementary jar on the way out. App, 4 entrees, 6 drinks for $126. Very fair esp. given the large portions. Had lunch next day with leftovers. Easy 5 stars. Clean and great... More

My wife and I dine on a regular basis at Venturas. The food, especially the home made pastas, are always excellent. The specialty dishes are also very good. The waiters and staff have always been friendly, and attentive, without being pushy. They are also regularly agreeable to provide special requests. They are equally good for lunch and dinner.

We chose to go here for my husband's 65th birthday with a group of family. The bartender was very pleasant and it looked like a promising evening. I questioned the waitress before ordering as to whether the scallops were sea scallops or bay scallops. She said they were the "very large" ones- so I ordered them. When they came the... More

First time there. Staff=great. Friendly, helpful, come often enough to be on top of stuff, but not too much to be distraction. Met the owner, the chef. My filet slightly overdone outside, but both our meals=excellent. The manicotti was off the charts good and so was the chicken parm. Hot, timely, I highly recommend this place. It will become a... Restaurant was near our downtown. Zuchinni flower appetizer was drowned in butter/oil. Would not order again. We ordered veal dishes. The scaloppine medallions were very tender and tasty. In contrast the veal parmigiana was tough. Uneven dining experience. Will not return.

Picked Ventura's b/c it was picked #1 on Yelp & the food was solid, quality Italian. Party of 5 for lunch - bill came to $130ish - no alcohol but we did have dessert. Like others have reported - the décor is old school phenomenal and an addition to the meal. Our server was douchy. Not in love with his... More

I took our whole extended family(24 people) here today after our daughter's graduation. I had arranged for 1pm reservations, and we were to order off the lunch menu. Over the phone, I was assured the bar would not be included in our bill - that would be paid by those who chose to use the bar. Since I couldn't absolutely... More

This restaurant had fairly good ratings, and our first and second choices were either closed or too full that night, so we decided to try it. The service was mediocre. We had to ask for water refills. Our waitress didn't know what to do with our plates when the main meals arrived and the appetizer plates were still there. It... More
