This is in the heart of East Utica, on the corner of Mohawk and Lansing with the door set on the diagonal.. It is a family restaurant consisting of one room. Alcohol is available. It serves the original recipes w/o hot peppers to muck it up (my opinion). Chicken Riggies are available to those her do prefer the hotter stuff.... More

I had a great lunch on a road trip across NY state at Joeys Restaurant. My partner and I split an appetizer order of Italian Greens (escarole sautéed w/garlic procutto, topped w/breadcrumbs and grated cheese and baked) and loved them. My partner had mushroom stew on pasta with a rich reds sauce with lots of pork. I had broccoli and... More

Love the Italian food here, some of the best stuffed peppers I have ever had. Never been disappointed by the food.

No, it isn't fine dining, but this is truly old-school Italian fare the way your Grandma would have done it. Amazing! The place is fairly small and packed on the weekends with good reason. Everything just top-notch and puts several much more expensive restaurants to shame. No yuppy menu here, but fantastic Italian food and casual atmosphere. It is in... More

Went on the Erie Canal Cruise in Herkimer and decided to drive into nearby Utica for dinner. Went to Joeys and started out with their only beer on tap, Utica Club, which thrilled our neighbor Jim. Appetizers included Stuffed Hot Italian Peppers, Italian peppers stuffed with meat & rice then baked covered with Mozzarella and swimming in a marina sauce;... More

Celebrated my sister's birthday with a visit to Joey's, and, once again, the restaurant was a great choice! Though the weather was stormy outside, the warm greetings from the staff and the friendly atmosphere more than made up for the wind and rain. The calimari appetizer was wonderful, very lightly breaded and VERY plentiful! Rarely that I leave calimari left... More

I took 32 people to Joey's for 2 nights, had food delivered for one night. Absolutely delicious entre's, wide selection, fresh. Friendly staff. The red house outside is deceiving, this is definitely a great choice!

Very good place to to meet family/friends. Small place, attentive staff, large portions. Above average menu. Small dinning room and small back room for groups. Your not there for the atmosphere, your there for the food. Rough neighborhood. We will be back when in the area.

Joey's is definitely nothing fancy. But, it is delicious, casual dining. Each time I have been there, I have felt like I was at someone's house-turned-diner. Everything and everyone is so informal. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone - whether you love Italian food or not.
