We were there this past saturday (21st November, 2009). We had a reservation, so our table was ready when we arrived, for 5.30pm. The waiting staff were nice. starters and sides: The water-cress salad was good, but the gnocchi was soaking in butter and salt...... the main course: was disappointing: my husband, a vegetarian ordered the onion tart (the only... more

I tried this place after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp and Tripadvisor. Sadly disappointed. It's not that the meal was bad, but it was certainly not up to the gushing "fresh local produce" reviews that it's been getting. The restaurant itself looks very charming. You are met with warm brick and wood colors lit by candelight. It is... more

We stayed at Juniper Hill B & B for a few nights and the one restaurant the innkeeper, Bruce recommended was Hazelnut Kitcen- we were certainly thrilled with his direction! It was in walking distance to Juniper Hill and we felt as if we were in one of the great places we frequent in Philadelphia, come to find out the... more

This restaurant has all the things you would want--local ingredients, innovative menu, nice atmosphere. But a previous review had warned that things were too salty, and this was unfortunately true. I really wanted to like the black bean soup as the flavors were excellent--but it was so salty I couldn't taste them properly. Same for the trout and potatoes. The... more

What a great little find. Elegant menu. Food was excellent, beautifully prepared by a chef with passion, and really served well. Good wine list. A very memorable evening for a special occasion and we will definitely visit again. more

if you don't stop at this sweet little spot, you'll wish you did. The food is innovative and prepared perfectly with a BIG emphasis on using local products. The steak is from cattle up the road about 2 miles. Can't get more local than that. more

The tortilla soup was quite good and my husband enjoyed the squid ink risotto. We both got the steak and they were great, as well as the fries. Best part was the aioli. Too bad we were too full for dessert! more

This is a real gem of a restaurant, and an unexpected one for the area. The food is excellent, with a great selection of primarily local ingredients cooked into fantastic dishes. Some of the combinations are unusual, but always approachable and delicious (who'd have thought that roast quail over peanut soba would be so good?!). The secret is local, fresh... more

Nice decor. Waitress was surly. My burger was so salty that I couldnt taste any of the organic beef...the mussels were a mixed bag....some were so small that they should never have been served. more

Lovely place with great use of local ingredients. The menu is small, but has unique combinations of ingredients (I had a house-made mint fettuccine with braised lamb, feta, pear and caramelized parsnips). more
