Beautiful and relaxing, with classic style.

This a great place for special occasions. We have eaten her with four families, and just as a couple, and the service and food was excellent in every case. Most of the food is classic American fare, done perfectly. It's not too spicy or extravagant or complex, but it is done right and served right... read more

Living in the area for years, I had always heard of this place as a nice, fancy restaurant. I dined here New Years Eve as a group of 5 and was very disappointed. There was really nothing special about the appetizers, they tasted average at best and it was as if they had been dumped on each person's plate. The... More

Dine here whenever I am in town. Menu is quite large and food is very good. All meals are 4 courses - appetizer, salad or sorbet, entree, and dessert. The biggest treat: the desserts - several here that you rarely see elsewhere. In addition to the creme brulee, tiramisu, and cheesecake, you can also try chocolate obsession (uniquely good), peppermint... More

Celebrated a wedding anniversary with 4 adults. Our table was on the enclosed "porch" with a lovely view of Cayuga Lake. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The menu at Taughannock includes a complete four course meal...appetizer, salad, breads, entree, vegetable, and dessert. So, although most entrees are $25 and up, everything is included. Their chilled strawberry soup is... More

Our seating was terrible and then were served old wine, stale bread, and the serving sizes for that price were horrible.

Went for dinner with a large group of about 100. The staff were great in getting everyone drinks before dinner, and then serving all the meals at the same time at good temperatures. They served 4 courses, appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert. All were very nice. Ribeye was terrific- a nice cut of meat, cooked perfectly. The setting and views... More

We made dinner reservations at this inn for the last night of our Finger Lakes vacation.........and were so glad that we did because, although we were sad to leave this beautiful area, the meal at Taughannock Farms Inn made it a bit easier to do so. We were seated at a window seat and had a wonderful view. It was... More

I remember years ago when I attended Cornell this was a splurge restaurant. I went back here with my wife and daughter and it is still a splurge restaurant. What is nice about this place versus others is that your meal includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert for the price most upscale places charge you for just the entree. The... More

Someone needs to teach this place how to buy steak and how to cook steak. I could have had a better meal at Ponderosa.

It's a rare find now a days to enjoy a relaxed 4 course meal with table linens, ample experienced waitstaff surrounded by such historically preserved elegance. We had a lovely view of the lake from our table and even though the dining room was full, I did not feel claustrophobic. Like many of the establishments I have enjoyed in The... More
