Someone needs to teach this place how to buy steak and how to cook steak. I could have had a better meal at Ponderosa.
It's a rare find now a days to enjoy a relaxed 4 course meal with table linens, ample experienced waitstaff surrounded by such historically preserved elegance. We had a lovely view of the lake from our table and even though the dining room was full, I did not feel claustrophobic. Like many of the establishments I have enjoyed in The... More
My husband and I, both Cornell grads, were excited to try this restaurant again with some friends (Ithaca College grads!) 20 years after we graduated. The location and views of Cayuga Lake are still breathtaking. The service rivals anything we experience at home (NYC), and the value for the money is still second to none. Most meals cost between $25-$40... More
The selectiions on the menu were very good. Dinner included Appetizer, Salad or Sorbet, Entree & Dessert. all were excellent and I felt the price was reasonable. The servers were extremely attentive and the Inn Keepers went to every table to make sure everything was to out liking.
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful staff! If you are in the area this place is absolutely beautiful and charming. The staff here can tell you the history of this wonderful place and the lake view is gorgeous!
We stopped by last Saturday night at 5 p.m. and were welcomed without a reservation, even though every table was filled by the time we left. The food, service, atmosphere, and view were all wonderful! The owners and staff go out of their way to make your dining experience great. Our meals were delicious, and we will be going back... More
The view was beautiful. The dining room looked pretty. The service was fine. Let's face it, this was supposed to be fine dining for the area. The food was average at best. To be specific, the appetizers were nothing special. They both had taste but were not tasty. Average. As for the main courses, the duck was just OK and... More
We had heard that the restaurant at the Inn was excellent but were a bit disappointed with the food and would not recommend the prime rib which was the special. While other parts of the meal were beautifully prepared and fresh, the prime rib appeared to have been precut and frozen. No matter what, though, the view, service and decor... More
Wife and I stayed at Taughannock Farms Inn for 3 nights. It is located about 1/3 of the way up the west side of Cayuga Lake heading from Ithaca. Their small restaurant is located inside their Victorian-style main building, where there are several guest rooms on the second floor. We had dinner at their restaurant on one night. The large... The restaurant has all glass windows so that you can see the lake from wherever you are seated. For the cost of your main course (prices range from approximately $25-35 dollars) you also get an appetizer, salad, and dessert! Compared to the many mediocre and pricey restaurants in the Finger Lakes, I found that price reasonable considering the quality and... More
