First off, let me say, I am a 65 year old, disabled, woman and retired Nurse Midwife, who has NEVER been more humiliated in her life. I stopped here on a cross country trip and ended up meeting with a NY State Police Officer, which was interesting, because I've never had any trouble where I've had to deal with the... More

We stopped by on a road trip just looking to grab a quick meal. The food was certainly yummy, but the staff was very distracted and a bit unprofessional. The prices were a little high considering the food that was served.

Potter Tavern is a little restaurant on Route 7, well outside Troy, NY, in spite of its address. We stopped here on a very rainy evening in late August on one of our frequent drives between our home in New Hampshire and Rochester, NY. This is the perfect place to stop and get off the road during the perverbial dark... More

We started discussing that we hadn't been to the Potters Tavern outside of Troy in a few years and that it would be interesting to visit again. The last time we stopped at this little strip mall was to visit the Bennington Pottery shop at the opposite end of the strip mall. It was about 7 PM and there weren't... More

Surprisingly YUMMY dishes that were well portioned and uniquely seasoned! The dessert of sorbet dipped in white chocolate was the most incredible thing I have ever tasted! Sue our waitress was like family to us and albeit not warp speed service, it was worth it. We laughed and had a grand time and when the food came....oh YES! We will... More

Echo previous review, the place was locked 10 minutes after it should have been open. Waitress was pleasant but clearly lacked experience. French onion soup was thin bland broth, lots of bread and a thin layer of mozzarella on top warmed until the cheese melted a bit and then served. Edible but that's about the best I can say for... The crepes on the new summer menu were delicious, but the service was at a snail's pace. Doors were locked at the specified opening time. We waited half an hour before our drinks arrived and another half hour for our entrees. Our waitress was pleasant, but seemed out of her depth. We actually had to search her out to get... More

Out of the way a bit, but well worth it. I had the beef bourguignon, which was an incredibly rich beef stew that was absolutely delicious. My wife had chicken and a bowl of first-class french onion soup. The rest of the menu looked very good. The staff was incredibly friendly, pointing out that the day's Early Bird special was... More

Found Potters Tavern while searching on Rest.Com and what a great surprise. Celebrating our 32 anniversary and wanted someplace new that was not a "chain" and thankfully found Potters. About a half hour drive from Delmar and really worth the trip. The surrounding were neat clean and comfortable. A rainy night otherwise would have liked to sit outside on the... More

We stopped here for dinner on our way through town last week. The atmosphere was nice enough, but the food left a lot to be desired. My lobster roll was mostly the mealy end parts of the claw, and definately not fresh. My husband had the Prime Rib and was quite disappointed. We both had the French Onion soup, which... More
