Service is OK but needs a lot of work.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Adirondack on Friday. It was quiet - there were only 2 other tables used in the patio. We picked one of the table outside - the ground was not clean and the table was not prepared (no utensils, etc.) Waitress came out and she was very sweet - cleaning... read more

This stretch between Troy and Bennington can be a culinary no man's land. This offering has a nice patio, but the food was poor. Mac and cheese cones in a bread bowl (a side order of carbs, anyone), the chicken pram appears to be a frozen food supermarket cutlet with a little marinara sauce on top (very drive), the soup... After driving past the signs for their lobster rolls all summer, we finally stopped for a meal at the Potters Tavern. The woman who greeted us was fabulous and the waiter was extremely pleasant, but the Tavern itself is a little tired and not quite clean. The food was fine, not quite up to the hype of the signs on... More

We stopped in just for a quick snack and beverage. We were quickly given menus when we sat at the bar but no one ever came back to help us. There were only about 5 tables in the place and we saw at least 3 servers. There were two other guys at the bar and when we got up they... More

My family loves this place. Very quaint and cozy. The servers always make us feel so welcome, and the food is great! We always have a great time and an awesome meal here.

I love visiting businesses that support local farms and Potters Tavern is no exception. I recommend the Cheese Appetizer. Food was good with generous servings, more than we needed really. Don't expect to eat and run but the waiter makes up for any delays. I would stop again. *Note to the owner...time to spruce up the patio :^).

Potters Tavern is very, very close to my residence. It is right on the right route, between Troy and Bennington. Great for leaf peepers, shoppers, travelers, skiers, tourists, etc, They offer everything from wings and things to more elaborate meals. Staff is friendly, more than helpful, the bar tender, Kevin, is golden. He seems to have twenty five arms, knowledgeable,... More

The menu is varied, food consistently excellent, and includes two different lobster rolls, one wam the other cold. There is a cozy dining area by the wood fireplace, or seating adjacent to the bar area. Nice holiday brunches, and dinner specials some nights include a personal psychic reading. Other interesting personal touches. Prices are very reasonable and good value for... More

Were driving through, and stopped because we did not see any other restaurants for some time. The only positive was the waiter, and the VERY tiny slice of cheesecake. The Italian wedding soup looked suspiciously like yesterday's left over celery soup. The entrees were not seasoned at all. The crab stuffed haddock smelled fishy before it hit the table. Not... I ordered a pizza to go a month ago and it was really good. this evening tried to call for a pizza to go. I am not surprised that when I called to order no one answered. I got a recorded message instead. since the staff let me know once before that they "knew who I was" when I stopped... More
