I live in Troy and am very happy with the food scene that has been developing here over the last few years. When I'm choosing a place for dinner, my ultimate comfort food is the Chicken Iskender at Ali Baba. (The staff knows my order by heart.) I've had the other food there also, which is great, but I always... More

One nice thing is they have a picture of each dish on the menu so if you are not familiar with this type of food you can see what you are getting. It is not fancy-a storefront kind of place, but the staff... More

Superb blend of Flavors, spicy but not too much. Three of us had this soup, and it was great! Strongly recommend.

Everything is excellent here. Chicken Iskender, beef Iskender, chicken Curry, and all the durum's are what i usually order. The bread is really good, humus and baklava very tasty. Nice people too.

This was not my favorite place to eat on this trip - but it was convenient. The hummus was strangely bland. The house salad was tiny. No falafel here! My sister had the Greek salad and it was OK. The salad with chicken was huge! The meal was served with freshly baked bread which was nice.

This unassuming establishment sits right down the street from RPI on 15th. There is very little atmosphere to speak of here (think laminate tables, paper placemats, fluorescent lights), but if you want to experience Mediterranean cuisine with a Turkish twist, then this is the place. Our waitperson helped us to navigate the menu, as there are names (like Iksander?) unknown... More

Based on numerous reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor, we tried Ali Baba. It had a very nice crowd when we arrived which only got busier while we were there. We began with the huge puffy loaf of bread with the yogurt dipping sauce which we all liked. Two out of three of us were not impressed by our entrees.... More
