There were four of us for dinner. Made reservations since we'd never been there before, but there would have been tables available if we'd just walked in. Pork osso buco, scallops, lasagna, and a linguine dish (the name escapes me). Everyone raved about their order except for the scallops, which were those pea size ones in some sort of broth.... More

Stopped in on a rainy Friday night craving red sauce. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and described the menu items in detail. The salad, while an additional $2 charge with an entree, was enormous, fresh & crisp, the house Italian dressing a bit sweet. My Pasta Pisa was a generous portion of the craved red sauce and mushrooms over... More

I had a craving for pasta primavera and read a very positive review of Minissale's' online. I called ahead of time on my way home and the takeout service was extremely friendly. They were very accomodating to the special requests I had for my order, and it was done in a ver timely manner. The inside of the restaurant is... More

I was there recently & ordered pasta primavera - counted 8 veggies. Waitress said the yellow & green squash was fresh from her mother's garden. It was tossed in garlic and olive oil - excellent. Enough for 2 meals ( and I have a big appetite!)

Basic Red Sauce Italian Minissale's Restaurant is your standard Capital District red sauce Italian joint. You will get a decent meal at a fair price served with little fanfare in an unremarkable setting. There are 50 other places just like it within 15 miles of downtown Albany, so there is no particular reason to make the trip to Minissale’s if... More

Ask for the back room by fireplace, European flair, with OH food.

My boyfriend and I went here this eve on a Saturday night date. It was a great change from the regular stops. The local place is small, however intimate. They were obliged and offered to give us the side, quiet room so we could have a more low key dinner. I had a simple soup ( homemade pasta fagioli) and... More

What a refreshing place to visit! Casual but classy. The food is prepared and served by the owning family and extended family. By the time you leave you will feel like part of the family as well. The food is very good. The pasta fagioli is in a broth and is excellent. The pork is fantastic. The baked haddock is... More
