Wonderful pre-concert dinner

Located only two blocks from the famous Troy Music Hall, this restaurant aims to please, especially if you call ahead and let them know you're going to a concert. We sat in front in the two-level restaurant and had excellent entrees. I had calamari bathed in their special sauce. Very enjoyable.

I'm not one that usually gives a restaurant five stars but considering all factors this establishment deserves that rating. Myself and a friend had dinner at this Italian restaurant on Monday night. It was raining heavily but that did not deter the multitude of the regulars from arriving for their reservations. This place is totally old school Italian. Michael LoPorto,... More

A first visit to LoPorto recently was for a Holiday / year end dinner for about 30 people. Right from start with the large plattered hot and cold appetizers to the main course large platters, the quality, flavor, and freshness of all the food was superb. I grew up with Italian families and worked in an Italian restaurant in upstate... More

Old school red sauce joint that does great traditional Italian.. I loved it. It reminded me of the neighborhood Italian place I grew up going to..

Yes, it looks like a dive from the outside. However, it's a very good Italian restaurant inside. Request seating in the balcony. We tend to visit several times a year. My favorite is Linguine Con Vongole -- just wonderful!

Although everyone in my party ordered a different dish, all arrived floating in a gravy. There was no way to distinguish veal piccata from veal saltimbocca from chicken cacciatore. They were all drenched in the same "gravy", Everything looked the same. If this is "authentic" Italian cuisine, something is amiss. Dreadful.

Unfortunately, the food was overshadowed by the length of time required to complete our meal. It took more than 2 1/4 hours for dinner on a moderately steady evening. The worst times were the 15 minutes it took for the waiter to come to our table, and then it was 40 minutes between our salad until we received our main... More

We ordered take out from Lo Porto's this week and really enjoyed the meal. We have had dinner here in the past - some years ago, but decided for take out this time. The food was excellent. Ling with Alfredo sauce was perfectly cooked and had an appropriate amount of sauce, not smothered like other places. Also enjoyed the Broiled... More

Great food. Great service. Authentic Italian. Four of us had the Lasagna (mmm.mmm.mmm.) and one had the spaghetti carbonara, also mmm.mmm.mmm. Inside and café dining outside. Wait staff was attentive.
