I have visited this place probably 5 times; each time the food is quite good, but other parts if the experience are lacking. Asking our server, in an empty restaurant, "Can we sit on this side, so we're not in the sun?" We're told no, the owner doesn't allow it, they have to fill up this section first. Another time,... Dinner was well prepared and excellent as usual. The restaurant was crowed but the wait staff worked along to keep up with orders and tables needs. Its a wonderful place to enjoy a fantastic meal.

My husband and I went here last night for a "date night" and are so happy we did. The food was soooo delicious!! Definitely not your run-of-the-mill menu, with interesting dishes and flavor combinations that you don't often see. The Korean Dumplings appetizer was amazing, we had to stop ourselves from licking the plate! Great bread, great salad, great complimentary... More

Dinner starts with a complimentary chef's appetizer - pasta, often with a Thai tomato sauce. Then a delicious green salad. There's a nice selection of entrees, with our favorite being the flat iron steak in brown butter - to die for! My one regret is that the only vegetable is the salad. Overall, a great place for a date!

My wife and I go here for special occasions. The food is great and not too expensive. Its a really small restaurant with the kitchen on the first floor and seating on the second. It has a romantic ambience. I really like the special pasta dish they serve as a surprise. I have been going here once or twice a... More

The food is some of the best I have eaten in upstate New York. The chefs treat is really very good and a nice start. Great wine list. Food does change seasonally which is always great. You do not necessarily want heavy fall/wnter comfort food in the summer. On the river so good views.

We were extremely disappointed by our recent visit to River Street Cafe. First of all, the chef was outback watching a game most of the time- luckily his server is so kind we decided to stay. The wine was overpriced, but tasty- definitely worth the price. The chef always sends a complimentary pasta- not sure why. It always fills us... More

Haven't gone to Troy much as we live in Albany but this place is a keeper. Free surprise appetizer brought to table and I wish I had the recipe. A pasta dish with roasted tomatoes, garlic, sesame oil and enough to satisfy. Then the great bread, included house salad preceeded an excellent preparation of Wild Salmon. I had 4 choices... More

We were looking for somewhere different to go and we found a great place. Of course, read reviews on trip advisor first! Our meal was delicious and the waiter was truly professional. I can think of a lot of restaurants that should take notes on how this restaurant operates. If I based my tipping if other servers measure up- no... More

If you are looking for a quiet spot with a pleasant atmosphere this is it. Troy has some great spots and I hadn't been here in a few years. We went a week ago looking for something different and that it was. Th food was great the waiter was very attentive and just a good guy. I had the veal... More
