Great food, nice atmosphere, good service

My wife and I had dinner here during my college class reunion. I had the mushroom ravioli and she had the mahimahi with pistachio brown butter sauce. Both were very tasty. The portions were large. We ended up taking the remainders of both home for a second meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and... read more

My husband and I had tickets to an event at a Troy concert venue and wanted to have dinner at a restaurant within walking distance. The River Street Cafe fit the bill - an easy fifteen minute walk. I had forgotten that we had dined with friends there several years ago. But when we entered the dining room on the... More

Made reservations 3 weeks in advance for our Gourmet Group party of 10. Arrived on time at 6 PM on Saturday, 11/15 and were seated promptly in the upstairs dining room. When we placed our order for 2 bottles of wine and bottled water, we asked that bread be brought right away. Waitress told us when we the food order... More

We had dinner on a Saturday night with a party of 4. I have to say the food was very good: I had mushroom ravioli which was really excellent, as were the complementary and ordered appetizers and the dessert. Everyone else at the table complemented the food too. However, dinner took at least 2.5 hours, which was just too long... More

This was a decidedly schizophrenic experience. The upside was the knowledgeable and friendly waitress and the coziness of the dining room. Other than that, I would have to say it's not worth a visit. There was ONE person taking care of the whole front of the house on a Thursday night, and she was slammed. The prep cook (dirty apron... More

I have visited this place probably 5 times; each time the food is quite good, but other parts if the experience are lacking. Asking our server, in an empty restaurant, "Can we sit on this side, so we're not in the sun?" We're told no, the owner doesn't allow it, they have to fill up this section first. Another time,... Dinner was well prepared and excellent as usual. The restaurant was crowed but the wait staff worked along to keep up with orders and tables needs. Its a wonderful place to enjoy a fantastic meal.

My husband and I went here last night for a "date night" and are so happy we did. The food was soooo delicious!! Definitely not your run-of-the-mill menu, with interesting dishes and flavor combinations that you don't often see. The Korean Dumplings appetizer was amazing, we had to stop ourselves from licking the plate! Great bread, great salad, great complimentary... More

Dinner starts with a complimentary chef's appetizer - pasta, often with a Thai tomato sauce. Then a delicious green salad. There's a nice selection of entrees, with our favorite being the flat iron steak in brown butter - to die for! My one regret is that the only vegetable is the salad. Overall, a great place for a date!

My wife and I go here for special occasions. The food is great and not too expensive. Its a really small restaurant with the kitchen on the first floor and seating on the second. It has a romantic ambience. I really like the special pasta dish they serve as a surprise. I have been going here once or twice a... More
