Made mother very happy one her day

Able to get reservations for Mother's Day and I am happy we did. Her omelette was cooked to perfection and her specifications and our son couldn't drop his fork while eating the corn beef hash. The French toast ordered at other table look equally delicious. The server were friendly and efficient... read more

We were here for dinner because the wait at Lucas Confectionery was 45 minutes. No wait here, on a Saturday night. We were seated by the owner who was extremely pleasant and I wanted to give this place a rave review because I loved her hands on approach. I had a fire roasted peppers and something else soup. It was... More

The Illium Cafe is my favorite brunch spot in the area. The food is consistently good and the daily specials always feature interesting combinations which never disappoint!

Went here for smalls and drinks before a show. We didn't have a reservation and they were busy. The staff was quick to seat and serve us so we could be done before the next reservation showed up, but they didn't hurry us. The menu is interesting and varied as is the wine list, it was easy to pick some... More

Took my small staff to lunch here after we finished a big project. I've had dinner here before - fabulous. The sandwich/pannini menu offers lots of options and can be very enticing/daunting particularly if you are looking at it online and hungry! :) Round the table we had the Chimichurri Surf & Turf Sandwich, the ultimate grilled cheese and the... We had been meaning to go here for quite some time. We went for dinner and had a great meal. The building has maintained much of the character of the original building with tin ceilings and the woodwork and built in ovens in the kitchen. We thought we would need a reservation (for a Saturday night) but did not. It... More

Stopped in Troy with my friend after skiing in Vermont, on our way back to NYC. A store owner recommended this place and they were completely right-it was the best meal I've had in the last month and I live in NYC, so there's a lot to choose from. Got the Cajun pork belly panini, which was amazingly delicious, something... More

I had lunch at the Illium Café in downtown Troy today with 3 friends. I ordered the special which was chicken pot pie. When our food arrived the "pot pie" was not hot but warm. Most disappointing though was the ingredients used, pressed, processed chicken roll! Not even real chicken. The side salad served was sparse and the tomatoes should... More

I really love this place. The atmosphere is friendly, the place is clean and the staff is top notch. Inventive cuisine (try the 'potato skins'-they are made from sweet potato rounds stuffed with duck breast and finished with a béchamel of some sort). There is really nothing run of the mill here, and yet it feels homey and unpretentious. It... More

I wanted to love this small "gourmet" breakfast joint but it just didn't do it for me. The waitress was very nice and charming, the coffee was pretty good, but the food was inconsistent. My friend got the French toast, which was very good. It was huge and delicious and covered in everything you want on your french toast. My... More
