We were in town for the RPI student orientation and I brought my daughter here for dinner. The brown ale was excellent and the draft root beer was good. We had a greek calamari appetizer that was both unique and excellent, fried squid with a greek tomato sauce, feta cheese, calamata olives, and spinach. It was excellent. We also split... More

In for dinner with family recently. Pretty busy for a Monday evening, around 8:00 pm. Took a while for a table for 6, and service seemed pretty slow... Burgers for a couple of us (Kitchen messed up the 2 burger orders; cooked incorrectly). Other items were Salmon Salad and Chicken Pot Pie, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed.... Maybe a... More

I didn't eat here, just had a great IPA on the terrace beside the river. Very friendly and efficient waitstaff, nice view of the Hudson. Historic building with an interesting story. Will definitely return to try the food.

On a lunch break during meetings in town, we were looking for a different place, but it was closed, so we came across Brown's and were glad we did. The food was unusual and delicious, the service was great and friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I will go back for dinner sometime to sample the beers!

We travel from MA over into NY to watch our grandson's soccer games. Having read reviews of Browns we decided to try it. We go now after the games. Our third visit this spring Our daughter and husband love the IPAs and we all enjoy the food. Chicken pot pie a favorite along with the pulled pork. Five of us... More

My fiance and I have been going to Brown's for years. We love the beer and the food is surprisingly good. We usually stick to the basics- wings, burgers, sandwiches and are always happy. My finance loves their version of fish and chips. Overall, great place to meet friends and grab some pub food.

As parents of the groom, coming from NM, we relied on friends' recommendation and rented a room on a Friday night in late May 2014 for our rehearsal dinner. We had 23 guests. Staff was ready & waiting for our on-time arrival. Service was excellent. Food was quite good for a buffet. Drinks were more than adequate ... I don't... More

one of the best places to dine or to drink in Troy NY. Brown's has a bar on the first floor and restaurant seating on both floors. The waiters and waitresses are friendly, and the food is pretty good, although the variety can be improved.

Great craft brews and an interesting and satisfying menu. Wide selection of seasonal and classic beers and ales - love the IPA. The food choices are more extensive than a typical bar food menu. Something interesting in every category from appetizers to entrees. Inside has great atmosphere, but in nice weather we like to sit on the deck and watch... More

This place on the Hudson River is an interesting place to eat. Food was good, but I was a little disappointed with the brown ale. I have had the bottled Oatmeal Stout, which I quite liked, so maybe other selections would have suited me better.
