Great old-school brewpub

Went there for dinner while on business in the area. Sat outside by the river, which was very pleasant. Brown's is the original and it didn't disappoint, although we're showing our age when a once "New Thing" is now old school. But Brown's wears it well. I worked my way through over half a... read more

Nothing fancy here. What you see is what you get. But you almost always get a table fast, good service, solid pub food, and a good choice of their own beer. Had a sirloin burger (terrific) and an off-the-wall beer (with coffee? Not so terrific, but I knew I was trying something weird when I ordered it). I'll come here... More

I had the meatloaf, which was really tasty. My husband enjoyed the shepherd's pie, and my son had the mac & cheese. They have a large selection of beer on tap. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. It's a little loud, but was likely busier than they expected because RPI parent orientation was ongoing and several nearby restaurants were closed.... Stopped in for a change of pace from the places we frequent when visiting Troy. The food was served efficiently and the friendly service made for an enjoyable dining experience. Good size portions leave you most likely needing a doggie bag. The habanero Mac and cheese has a back flavor the warms your senses and the spice slowly spreads across... More

Dined here July 13,2015. Great place for lunch! Place was crowed but was able to get seated within 10 minutes. Had their California Melt and 16 oz. Pale Ale, both good choices. Next time I visit here am going to dine at the bar, everyone there was enjoying the variety of locally crafted beers served by this company.

This was an incredible place to stop for lunch. I had tried a Browns Beer at a brewfest years ago and was not impressed so I have avoided it for years. Dumb move! We started by ordering two flights which included All of the current beer selections. There was not one to shy away from. They were all very good... More

Love their cherry raz!!! Their beer pretzels are a great appetizer. I would always recommend the risotto of the day. Browns does a great job from start to finish. One of my favorite places to eat.

We are forever looking for a great place for great wings and we found it at Browns but my second course left me a little flat when the arrival of my Fish and chips. I got a lightly breaded version of the classic dish. I was looking for an beer infused tempura like batter. The pump station does it right!!!... More

A late night Friday dinner with friends. We ordered two hamburgers and a mac and cheese and beer. There was a ton to choose off the menu and I'm looking forward to coming back for one of the entree dishes. Burgers were amazing, juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I couldn't say the same for the mac and cheese -- it... More

Recent business trip to the Troy area had my co-workers and I searching for a low key place for dinner. This place had wonderful shepards pie, fish and chips and spicy mac and cheese. Also a beer tasting paddle with your choice of up to 8 beer flavors. A bit noisy, but really great beer and food. Service was on... More
