Stopped here for lunch when visiting RPI with my daughter. I looked for a restaurant online prior to our trip, and chose this one because the menu had a nice variety of items. For our appetizer, we shared the spinach and artichoke dip and loved it! Our sandwiches were also very good. I had the pale ale and liked it,... More

Brown's is a must visit if you are in the Albany/Troy are. Seriously. Let's start by saying that I love a good brew pub, especially if said brew pub makes quality beer. Brown's does just that, and with a seriously innovative line up to boot. I started with the raspberry cheery beer (I'm a sucker for a framboise lambic), light... More

Had extraordinary service. Everyone pleased with their choices - burgers, macaroni, caesar salad, ribs. Lively spot, offers music on back balcony at nine.

We went for dinner on a Thursday night. Waited about 20 minutes before receiving a text that our table for 2 was ready. We sat upstairs, so not sure if that may have contributed to our mediocre service, as the wait staff had to bring most things from downstairs but our service was not great. Being a Brit, I thought... Went on a Friday night. Told to wait 20 minutes in outdoor beer garden overlooking Hudson. Nice deck. Good beer. Within 30 seconds of sitting down receive a text that our table is ready. Comfortably casual indoor dining room with exposed brick. Service immediate at first but then sort of trailed off. Food is average with emphasis on burgers, fries,... More

We were in town for the RPI student orientation and I brought my daughter here for dinner. The brown ale was excellent and the draft root beer was good. We had a greek calamari appetizer that was both unique and excellent, fried squid with a greek tomato sauce, feta cheese, calamata olives, and spinach. It was excellent. We also split... More

In for dinner with family recently. Pretty busy for a Monday evening, around 8:00 pm. Took a while for a table for 6, and service seemed pretty slow... Burgers for a couple of us (Kitchen messed up the 2 burger orders; cooked incorrectly). Other items were Salmon Salad and Chicken Pot Pie, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed.... Maybe a... More

I didn't eat here, just had a great IPA on the terrace beside the river. Very friendly and efficient waitstaff, nice view of the Hudson. Historic building with an interesting story. Will definitely return to try the food.

On a lunch break during meetings in town, we were looking for a different place, but it was closed, so we came across Brown's and were glad we did. The food was unusual and delicious, the service was great and friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I will go back for dinner sometime to sample the beers!

We travel from MA over into NY to watch our grandson's soccer games. Having read reviews of Browns we decided to try it. We go now after the games. Our third visit this spring Our daughter and husband love the IPAs and we all enjoy the food. Chicken pot pie a favorite along with the pulled pork. Five of us... More
