Been awhile, but worth the wait. Great roast beef sandwich. If you're looking for fine dining this is not your place. If you're looking for good food, friendly staff, and casual atmosphere than you'll like it here.

Went for late mothers day dinner approx 7 pm when we walked in a staff person in a very rushed voice said go in the back , sit down , i will be there. We walked to the dining area , no one thete, many tables clutterd with dirty dishes and food. Decided to read trip advisor reviews and pretty... More

Visiting Buffalo after many years away. Beef on wick is high on the list of must have's Swiston's was not as I remembered it. Sandwiches were dry, no au jus on the side, They were thick with meat, but small. We got charged for drinks we did not order. When brought to the waitress's attention, she handed us our correct... I was told this is "THE PLACE" to get Beef on a Weck, well, the bread was soggy, perhaps frozen and microwaved to warm it up. I do not reccommend this place for "B on a W"

Ate at swistons last night on way to Riviera theatre. What an awful experience. Should have made our getaway when the server/bartender/cook said " no menus, there's two choices: chili or beef on weck." The food station was behind bar with microwave to reheat . Lady in bathroom was vomiting in next stall...should have asked if she'd had beef on... More

I went here last week for a hockey game. It's very casual, and they literally only serve Roast Beef and Chili (and free self-serve popocorn). It's mostly a bar. I have to say, the roast beef is the best i have ever had. It's $6.50 for a sandwich, but it is an enormous sandwich, the beef was super tender and... More

Consistently great food and very reasonably priced. Their sandwich is piled so high it's hard to bite into. The Chili is one of the best around and you almost need a bigger bowl. Cold beer on tap as well as bottles. They only do Beef on Weck and Chili and they do both the best. Located on the Erie Canal... More

Being from the area, every time I am there I try to find a good place to get a great roast beef and kimmelweck roll sandwich, which is a western NY tradition. Swiston's was that place. They serve ONLY beef on weck or chili, both of which are excellent. If you like his then I suggest you check it out... More

It had been 30 years since I was in this restaurant to have their famous Beef on Weck. I was really looking forward to it. I came to try it on 3 occasions. Each time was the same: Terrific service, bountiful portions and overcooked, dried out beef with bland (old?) horseradish. On my last day in Tonawanda I went to... More

We were a little skeptical when we walked in and asked to see the menu and were told all they serve is chili & roast beef sandwiches. Being very hungry we decided to give a bowl of chili and roast beef on kimmelwick a try. Both were delicious! The chili was hot and spicy but not too spicey. The roast... More
