Description: Empire Brewing Company is a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a brewery on the premises. Here, we aspire to provide customers with the best food and libation available by utilizing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Whether it is vegetables and herbs grown in our garden, hops grown by our brewer, locally raised grass-fed angus beef, or original music performed by our friends, we give our patrons an experience that can only be had at the Empire Brewing Company. The moderately priced and eclectic food menu is complemented by a diverse selection of hand-crafted ales and lagers. In addition to beer, the Empire offers cocktails and a large selection of wines. The atmosphere is casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glass-enclosed work area which provides a view of the massive copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open-performance kitchen allowing patrons clear visibility of the chef and his assistants. The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, the drama of the performance kitchen, and the architectural nuances of the building. The understated design - featuring exposed brick walls, wood beams, and columns - pays homage to the brewing tradition and the pre-existing architecture. With clarity the aim and materials and ambient lighting the accent, a warm and inviting environment has been created for customers to enjoy the music, food, and beverages.

We stopped in for a beer and were surprised by the huge variety from which to choose. The beer was OK, but we really liked the everything pretzel appetizer. I had never seen anyone think to put everything bagel topping on a hot pretzel. It was a brilliant idea and worked very well. I wish we had stayed for dinner.

Whenever I go downtown, I usually stop at this great upscale microbrewery & restaurant. Best to during the weeknights, so you can avoid the weekend nights when its packed with 20-somethings & the college crowd. I highly recommend going during lunches. IMO the lunches there are usually the best. I especially recommend going on Sunday (Sunday Blues Brunch) when they... More

What can you not like about a place that encourages folks to eat and drink local? Empire is really special in that way, but isn't preachy about it. They prepare fresh, local dishes with local ingredients and pair it with handcrafted brews that are some of the best. They have a lot of quirky beers: White Afro is one specific... More

We ended up here after finding out that Pastabilites was closed for the 4th of July. The service was fast and friendly. The home brew was great. My wife enjoyed their raspberry hard cider that was on tap. Food was great.

Stopped in here for lunch and to watch the early soccer match and found the staff friendly, the service good, and the food pretty decent for pub food. We tried the chicken fajita, chicken wrap, and the Thai chicken salad and all were fresh and flavorful. The IPA also ranked an 8.5 out of 10!

Loved the food and service at Empire Brewing Company! We had a steak salad and a margherita pizza with a side salad - all were excellent. The steak on the salad was cooked just as requested. Our server went the extra mile by offering this southerner some simple syrup to sweeten the tea!!! Outstanding service and food.

Delicious food. The Empire beer isn't great. Love the atmosphere! It is a pain to park downtown but the good is worth it.
