Description: Empire Brewing Company is a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a brewery on the premises. Here, we aspire to provide customers with the best food and libation available by utilizing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Whether it is vegetables and herbs grown in our garden, hops grown by our brewer, locally raised grass-fed Angus beef, or original music performed by our friends, we give our patrons an experience that can only be had at Empire Brewing Company. The moderately priced and eclectic food menu is complemented by a diverse selection of hand-crafted ales and lagers. In addition to beer, Empire offers cocktails and a large selection of wine. The atmosphere is casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glass-enclosed work area which provides a view of the massive copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open-performance kitchen allowing patrons visibility of the chef and his assistants. The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, the drama of the performance kitchen, and the architectural nuances of the building. The understated design - featuring exposed brick walls, wood beams, and columns - pays homage to the brewing tradition and the pre-existing architecture. With clarity the aim and materials and ambient lighting the accent, a warm and inviting environment has been created for customers to enjoy the music, food, and beverages.

Empire Brewing Company is located underground with a New York City-like sub way staircase descending to the glass doors. Inside the exposed brick and metal piping, along with dim lighting make it a snappy scene for any foodie. Family was in town for a funeral, and many are craft beer fans. Not really crowded for a saturday night so they were able to seat 8 of us quite quickly. I had the Tumbleweed burger with java slaw as a side which was OK. The burger was outstanding. The waitress told us "fresh basil chiffonade" is just strips of... More

Stopped in here after the Syracuse Orange game on a Sunday as this was one of the few places open. They have a pretty good selection of micro brews and the place was packed when we arrived. After about a 30 min wait we got a table and I ordered the steak. It was done well to order (med rare)... More

Alright, so after a little bit of time where the food wasn't so good, they're back on their game. The atmosphere is awesome as long as you go at the right time that suites you. If you're going out to eat with family--go at the appropriate dinner hours--it gets super busy. If you're going out for drinks with friends, just... More

The Empire is always on our plan when we visit Syracuse. The brick walls and secluded basement feel are accented by the sassy bartenders and great beer choices! Each December we descend the stairs to grab a seat and the bar to recap our visit and shopping. We enjoy the variety of beers and the appetizer list is extensive! On... More

We attended the Empire for Dinner. We had a group of 4 and were seated very quickly; however, it did fill up while we were there. our Server, Steve, took care of us, ensured we didn't want for anything and totally made our visit even better. Great pub fare and crafted draft beers. Our party had sweet Potato Fries, Regular... More

A wide array of beers to choose from as well as a wide array of food choices. Friendly staff and good music. It simply has all the ingredients for a good time added to the fact that it's one of the few places that are open on a Sunday night in Syracuse.

Went here on a Saturday for lunch before a Syracuse basketball game. The atmosphere is great, it was very nicely decorated for the holidays, but it was loud at times even though it wasn't close to full. As you would expect the craft beers are great, wish we had split a flight instead of getting individual pints though. Had the... More
