Empire Brewing Company is a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a brewery on the premises. Here, we aspire to provide customers with the best food and libation available by utilizing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Whether it is vegetables and herbs grown in our garden, hops grown by our brewer, locally raised grass-fed Angus beef, or original music performed by our friends, we give our patrons an experience that can only be had at Empire Brewing Company. The moderately priced and eclectic food menu is complemented by a diverse selection of hand-crafted ales and lagers. In addition to beer, Empire offers cocktails and a large selection of wine. The atmosphere is casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glass-enclosed work area which provides a view of the massive copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open-performance kitchen allowing patrons visibility of the chef and his assistants. The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, the drama of the performance kitchen, and the architectural nuances of the building. The understated design - featuring exposed brick walls, wood beams, and columns - pays homage to the brewing tradition and the pre-existing architecture. With clarity the aim and materials and ambient lighting the accent, a warm and inviting environment has been created for customers to enjoy the music, food, and beverages.

Food was great but VERY noisy

Tasty food, tasty beer, but would not be a place to have a conversation; you could barely converse with the wait staff

We ate at the Empire Brewing Company last Saturday night. The service was quick and friendly, but this is definitely not the place to go if you're looking for a quiet meal. I guess that should kind of be expected since it is a brewing company, but I think this restaurant is unique in the fact that it appears to... More

Fantastic food and brews! However, we arrived in downtown Syracuse during a police hunt for a suspected murderer; definitely made for an interesting evening out. But would return again for the elk chili and blue corn bread. Definitely a must- stop for craft-brew afficionados!

Quick lunch. A wide varities of food on the menu. I had the mediterranean plate, good quantities of the standards; tabbouleh, hummus, olives, etc. Felafel balls were hard as a rock. Pita wasn't warm. Spicing was too subtle,, not distinctive . Veggie chili was ok, but also not spicy. Not bad, not great

went for lunch & it was packed already at the bar - beer selection was good but the food was not. When the waitress took our plates & noticed I barley touched mine she put her hands on the table & said 'what's wrong with it' - didn't know what to say other than 'I liked the beer'

Stopped here during a recent road trip - the wait was longer than anticipated, but it was a Saturday night - I found the bartender to be not the most pleasant person, the food is OK and the service was a little too slow for my taste

We tried Empire Brewing Company for lunch this week and it was pretty good. The atmosphere was "pubish" --lots of brick and high ceilings. Service was good. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. No wait to be seated, although there was a generous crowd on hand for the noontime meal. We started with the Mediterranean Platter ($14): tuscan bean dip,... More

stopped in for lunch with the family after the zoo. the place is below street level and has a cool bar. tried the chili and cornbread and the chili was meaty and had a good kick to it. not too spicy, just the right burn. the cornbread was ok, not as great as all the reviews but go ahead and... I went by Empire recently and honestly I had not been there in a about 2 years. I was with 2 colleagues from work who were in town and business and we were looking for a good beer and some tasty but different food after a few hours of casual beer consumption. I mentioned Empire and these were all in... More
