Description: Empire Brewing Company is a contemporary downtown bar and grill with a brewery on the premises. Here, we aspire to provide customers with the best food and libation available by utilizing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Whether it is vegetables and herbs grown in our garden, hops grown by our brewer, locally raised grass-fed Angus beef, or original music performed by our friends, we give our patrons an experience that can only be had at Empire Brewing Company. The moderately priced and eclectic food menu is complemented by a diverse selection of hand-crafted ales and lagers. In addition to beer, Empire offers cocktails and a large selection of wine. The atmosphere is casual and festive. The brewing facility is housed in a glass-enclosed work area which provides a view of the massive copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The food is prepared in a handsome open-performance kitchen allowing patrons visibility of the chef and his assistants. The interior decor highlights the industrial elements of the microbrewery, the drama of the performance kitchen, and the architectural nuances of the building. The understated design - featuring exposed brick walls, wood beams, and columns - pays homage to the brewing tradition and the pre-existing architecture. With clarity the aim and materials and ambient lighting the accent, a warm and inviting environment has been created for customers to enjoy the music, food, and beverages.

We spent the evening at the bar having a great time with the staff and customer alike! The food was good, but the craft beer was extrordinary! Their Grind, Honey Brown and White Affro are the best I have ever had for taste! Can not wait for their new brewery to be built so they offer their brews in bottles!

Very exciting menu with some original selections and choices. Hanger steak is delicious and some interesting Cajun items. Prices are very moderate and the beer is great

The cold draft beer was great. I had two pints of the "Liv and Let Rye". For dinner I was between a bowl of the gumbo, perhaps as an appetizer, and the Big Mamou, which includes jambalaya, big easy gumbo, shrimp nola & blue corn bread. At the bartenders suggestion I opted for the Big Mamou, which was not a... More

I've been here twice, both for dinner after business in Syr. My first visit was in Spring and they had an amazing Coffee beer that I wanted to take home with me. I went again in Fall, and was disappointed that it had been replaced. The bar tender was very accommodating and gave us tastings of other beers to help... More

Five of us stopped by for a weekend family lunch. Those of us who ordered straightforward items like burgers got the usual "I'm afraid to cook it too little" overdone quality but the one who ordered a fish taco got it served last and served cold. The offer to redo it was turned down since the child with us was... More

Hip and trendy - good place in downtown Syracuse for a microbrew and selection of pretty good pub food at reasonably prices.

Empire brewery came highly suggested as "the place" to get a great farm-to-table burger. Not the case. It was over-priced, over-hyped and not the quality that was suggested on the menu. Beyond this, they actually charged us for a side (a little black plastic cup) of pickles!! The truffle oil fries were lacking in truffle oil and tasted old and... More

My date and I stopped in for lunch on a visit. We both ordered burgers; he had ordered the lamb burger well but it was raw in the middle upon taking a big bite. He sent it back to the kitchen but by the time it was returned, I had already finished. The waitress apologized and mentioned something about a... More

Had a great locally brewed beer and and awesome burger. Cool that the place is underground. Would come back.
