Always a treat

This is my go to place for fresh italian bread. They have traditional, flat, and round loaves of italian bread. You can also find fresh pizza dough. The bread is always fresh, and will fill your car with the greatest of aromas as you drive home. I just tried the Columbus bakery deli next door... read more

Rumor has it when they remodeled no one could find a key to the door that hadn't been locked in years! It's that kind of place. Great bread. Get an extra loaf to eat on the way home, especially if it is still warm. This is an institution on the "nort side" of Syracuse.

The recipe "ingredients: enriched flour, water, salt, yeast." So, can someone explain to me why it is so good?! The Columbus Bakery is one of those must-go-to places in Syracuse. It's located on the north side, which used to be an Italian neighborhood, but many of my fellow paisans have moved away. Probably didn't make much difference to Columbus Bakery's... More

My niece took me here. They bake bread the old fashioned way, kneading by hand. We ate sandwiches bought next door, but owned by the same people. Sitting outside, we watched one after another go in and buy bread. The bread is fabulous!

When my children were younger, I had to buy two "flats" that were still warm so that they could snack on it on the way home! I love their "soft-side" and "flat" the best. You need to only get what you will need because it does get hard by the next day. I think this is the best bread in... More

I know it sounds trite, but this little hole-in-the wall bakery produces some exceptional bread. It isn't a Syracuse landmark for nothing! Try a pizza kit--you won't be disappointed.

This place has been around forever~! It offer the BEST ever Italian bread. Baked right there and smells so good as you ride around the neighborhood. There is nothing like going in and purchasing a regular long loaf and a "flat" , get in the car and tear it apart and eat it warm! It never makes it home!! So... More

I remember going here for warm just out of the oven Italian bread with my parents many decades ago. Somethings never change. They only get better! Now, next door to the bakery you can get delicious deli sandwiches made on their wonderful bread. I had a meatball sandwich and my husband had turkey. Both were delicious! Great quick lunch when... The most amazing meatball in a heel ever. They take one of their fresh baked loafs of bread (heel),made right next door, then they cut one small end off of the loaf and pull out the bread from the inside (and offer it to you to eat!). Then they fill it with cheese and fresh and delicious meatballs and sauce... More
