Best Italian bread around.

Not a restaurant but a bakery! The aroma of freshly baking bread will draw you in. Have to pick up a few loaves each time we go back to Syr. They don't know how to bake good Italian bread in Indiana. We especially love the flat round loaves.

Not much to look at and hard to find, but the food is great. Pizza kit costs $10 and it's better than any take out. Sandwiches are to die for and the bread is legendary in this area.

Columbus is not a restaurant........ it sells one item......Italian Bread !!!! Flat, Point , or Round end.......... There is no comparable Italian bread...ANYWHERE.!!!!!!!!! Friends and family that move away always ask for it when they come "home" . If you have never had Columbus bread , you should go and pick some up. Sunday after church is a Syracuse tradition..pick... The bread you buy here has no preservatives. It will go stale quickly...if it lasts that long. This is not a restaurant. It is a bread bakery with a deli attached. the deli has wonderful cold cuts and meats. But a true CNYer goes for the bread! You can tell who grew up here by their response to it. LOL

This bakery only bakes the best bread in the country. The bread is always fresh and warm. We usually buy a 'flat bread' to eat on the way home from the bakery

Make no mistake, this is the freshest and best tasting bread in town ! When you walk in the smell fills the air. You can see the ovens, the wooden dough carts, bakers mixing dough, truly an experience to witness and taste. Fresh dough is available to purchase so you can bake some at home too... ! Before we moved... More

This is my go to place for fresh italian bread. They have traditional, flat, and round loaves of italian bread. You can also find fresh pizza dough. The bread is always fresh, and will fill your car with the greatest of aromas as you drive home. I just tried the Columbus bakery deli next door, and enjoyed one of the... More

Rumor has it when they remodeled no one could find a key to the door that hadn't been locked in years! It's that kind of place. Great bread. Get an extra loaf to eat on the way home, especially if it is still warm. This is an institution on the "nort side" of Syracuse.

The recipe "ingredients: enriched flour, water, salt, yeast." So, can someone explain to me why it is so good?! The Columbus Bakery is one of those must-go-to places in Syracuse. It's located on the north side, which used to be an Italian neighborhood, but many of my fellow paisans have moved away. Probably didn't make much difference to Columbus Bakery's... More
