We were in town for the day, awaiting some medical tests. We didn't want a typical chain and love diners. A hospital staff member recommended Stellas. It's a huge diner, classic chrome and Betty Boop motif with red stools and a long counter. We had breakfast. The coffee was good, waitress was awesome and kept our mugs filled. I had... More

This place is always busy so, when it's just the two of us, we usually sit at the counter. Visited recently for a late lunch. We had chicken soup, which was excellent, and Buffalo Chicken Salad, which was very good and HUGE. Made a nice lunch the next day, too. Service is attentive and friendly. Only drawback: their iced tea... More

I'm from NYC. I've lived in New Jersey and have family on Long Island. So, you can say I have a little familiarity with diners. In fact, I can't imagine living in a community that doesn't have diners. So, for years I've asked myself WTH am I doing in Syracuse?! The only places that this town claimed to be diners... More

Stopped in at Stella's today sat at the bar because it was busy. Ordered eggs and sausage and waited with coffee. Watched the charade behind the counter. The girl who passes out all the orders touches everyone's food as it comes across from the kitchen - grabs the bacon with her hands and microwaves it left without our food -... More

Why, why, why do people give this restaurant such high praise and good reviews? I mean, yes, this sister run show was once great and part of the breakfast and diner pioneers in Syracuse, but they have lost their edge big time. I have tried hard to avoid writing this review because I really wanted to love Stellas again. Have... More

This is a must for breakfast or lunch. Huge portions of delicious food very reasonably priced. One review stated there are no healthy options? There are several salad choices and everyone I had was delicious. The jambalaya and the goulash are fantastic as are the omelets. Never had a bad meal and I've eaten there many times. On Sunday mornings... More

The title pretty much says it all. The staff is friendly enough, but every time I've eaten here (only twice, because I can't take it anymore), my stomach hurts badly. The food is heavy and greasy, the coffee isn't too good, and there are no healthy options. So, American food it is... if you like that, this is your place.

Stella's is a good, very busy, very friendly diner. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and had to wait about 20 minutes until 2 seats together at the counter were available free, it would have been longer if we waited for a table. The server was friendly and quick to serve. My wife had The Stella, a ham,... More

My co-worker and I had dinner here, we were told it's famous for good food, a must visit in Syr. I had a turkey club salad, more than half of which I had to take back to my hotel to finish as a late night snack. Fresh lettuce, boiled egg, deli meats, lots of veggies and a really good blue... More
