Forget Olive Garden. If you want the real deal, skip the franchises lining Erie Boulevard and head out to Burnet Ave. for Casa di Copani, one of the few remaining family-owned, Italian restaurants in Syracuse. On our last visit, our party enjoyed warm homemade bread just out of the oven, an absolutely sublime appetizer of Stuffed Olives, and entrees of... More

Okay, there are admittedly a million great Italian restaurants in Syracuse. Is this in the highest tier? No, but it won't kill you to eat here. Very friendly and grateful staff , and decent preparation of the basics. Soups were good and I didn't find them as salty as one reviewer. If your near here, it's a good stop if... More

My family and I have been going to Copani's for a number of years. They have the best Italian food I've ever had - it's Italian food the way my mother cooked it and that, thankfully, I learned how to cook. There isn't a restaurant in the area that can compare to Copani's menu. And if you're not into Italian... More

We were told this place was a good so we tried it out. All was well until I looked at my sons plate and found a giant black curly hair. They gave me a hard time to take his food off the bill let alone anything else. I could not eat anything after seeing that hair. The manager told me... More

We hadn't to this restaurant in about 4 years and thought we'd give it a try. It was a Saturday night a little before 7, the elderly hostess ignored us and kept leaving her station. I had a bad feeling right away and wish I had trusted those feeling and gone someplace else. There were many empty tables and it... More

Thanks to Tripadvisor ratings, we chose this place for dinner. It was Sunday evening so the restaurant was a little over half full. The server had his hands full taking care of all the tables but the bartender and another person were helping him. It isn't often you see staff jumping in to help when it isn't "their job". I... WOW ... Very nice place. Small, out of the way, but if you can find it, you will enjoy it. My wife had pasta and I had my normal steak. My wife had wine (Montepulcanio D'Ambruzzo) and she loved it. The best she has ever had. Tracy waited on us and she was great. Very nice experience.

We had a waiter who obviously loves his food and likes to talk about it. Our dinner kept coming and any morsels left on our plates, and we were tsk-tsk'ed by the waiter for not finishing everything. The anti-pasto salad was excellent as were the entrees. The tomato sauce for the calamari was superb although there was a bit too... More
