Very Good Clams, Not So Good Fish Fry

We ordered steamed clams and new england clam chowder, both of which were very good. If this is all we ate, I would've given it 4-stars easy. However, the fish fry was very dense and greasy and had an unpleasant flavor. The fish fry sandwich is rather silly. It's a fish fry on a sub roll with no... read more

I could tell right away that this is where the locals go for great food - I was correct, small place and hopping with service. Very reasonable prices and the food quality was very good. if your looking for a quiet dinner it's not the place but if you are interested in great food and service at an affordable price... More

The smallest of places but with the most fresh, awesome seafood. As a seafood lover I can be quite picky but the clam bar offers a great selection.

No clams at the clam bar due to weather in the north east! Food and service were great just wish it wasn't so packed in there! Portions were a bit skimpy for the price of lunch, 4 broiled sea scallops and 4 broiled shrimp with a side of cottage cheese was $10. Parking was difficult to find.

Busy busy place especially on weekends, you may have to wait a bit for a table. We went during SU basketball game and bar was packed. Food is excellent, served by friendly and attentive wait staff who go out of their way to get you anything you want. We were very pleased.

Craving seafood, my husband and I came here on Valentine's day. It's an extremely tiny place. We had to wait at the door with cold air flowing in on us to be seated. The waiting line went out the door so people behind us kept the door open, so even though I didn't get a good first impression, I thought... More

We have been going to the Clam Bar for years! Without exception, our food has been served by friendly, courteous and knowledgable staff and while the menu doesn't change much it is always very good! The seafood is always fresh, the steaks are excellent and the prices are fair and reasonable. Waiting for a table is always worth it and... More

Our friends from the area asked to meet us here and we are so happy that they did. This place is great! Down to earth, GREAT food with exceptional service! The place was packed for lunch but the way the booths are set, I swear we were in our own little place. We sat right across from the bar but... More
