Some will say that I am biased because I frequent this restaurant/bar, however, I have tried many items on the menu and have not been disappointed. Seafood is fresh, prepared properly. They have daily specials that are very tasty and creatively different than the "normal" menu. So far, only one appetizer that I did not care for, and maybe I... More

Clam chowder we had yesterday afternoon was so good.... 3 of us went out for a late lunch, around 2pm, which was starting to thin out, always being over crowded..... 3 of us chose from the special menu.... being Friday.... Fish was perfectly cook.... I don't like fries, chose a salad on the side, even though I had talked to... More

If you are looking for a seafood experience.. go elsewhere... I know this place has a fortitude of regulars that like this place.. but I must say, its only because they are regulars and really don't have a clue about seafood.. The place is jammed pack on the weekends so, why change anything right ?? Well because your regulars won't... More

whenever we travel through syracuse, ny we try and do it during meal time so we can stop at one of our favorite restaurants, the clam bar. it may not look like much from the outside, but it is definitely worth the trip inside. give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The Clam Bar is an unpretentious restaurant with a cozy bar and a small but wonderful arrangement of booths where you can sit back and enjoy some great seafood. Looking down from above is a huge array of mounted game fish, which may or may not whet your appetite for the meal to follow. A couple of us stopped out... More

Stopped on a Wednesday night around 5:00 PM and had no trouble getting a table even though it filled up early thereafter. Had (2) specials that were only so-so. Unfortunately the French fries were typical processed Cisco and the mashed potatos tasted like paste. The positive was the service was great and the beer was cold. Probably will be awhile... More

At first look, this looks like any dive bar. But when the food arrives, looks prove to be deceiving. My wife and I found so many tempting appetizers we decided to skip the main course and just kept the starters coming. Clams on the halfshell were great. Chowder, too. In fact, just about everything. Friendly service, too. We were staying... More

Busy, cosy and popular, that pretty much describes this little bar-restaurant in North Syracuse. We actually did not have to wait too long considering that we arrived around 5:30pm on a Rainy Saturday. Get your name in to the hostess right away if you can find her in the crowd. We had a twenty minute wait for a table and... More

It is a small place, and the wait can be long, but it is worth it! There is a good variety of seafood, broiled, or fried. There are at least several daily specials. Portions are adequate, and are served with salad, side, and a loaf of bread with herbed butter. The bar is hopping all the time, and it can... More

We stop here every time we are in Syracuse. The restaurant is small, and sometimes there is a wait, but it is well worth the wait. The service is good and the food is always outstanding. My favorite is the linguine with clam sauce.
