Good food and friendly, attentive service. Glad we came back.

Danzer’s is an old favorite of ours; this was our first time back they reopened. They did a good job. All four in our group were pleased with the food and service. The only thing that didn’t seem as good as it used to be was the dumplings; they were a little grainy and doughy. Other than that... read more

Having frequented the battery of Danzer's restaurants that served Syracuse in the 1970's, I was grateful to dine at the surviving establishment, and was overcome by the wonderful Reuben (The RED Reuben!) for lunch and, 6 hours later, Sauerbraten,& red cabbage & noodles for dinner. Yes, the place is THAT good: you can eat there twice in a row. Don't... More

We ate at Danzers today for dinner and it was only satisfactory. The waitress we had was very friendly and seemed to be trying to do a good job but was running ragged and couldn't be attentive to our table. She kept apologizing and did comp one of our meals because she forgot to bring our salads and two sides... More

Have been a patron of Danzer's for several years. Was there in August - food was good.. and our out of town visitors really enjoyed it. Then the restaurant closed for awhile - had issues - with staff and the DOH. January 2, 2015 was the date of our visit - we were there around 5pm - was a little... More

Food is becoming sub-par, it seems greasier, often arrives cold, service is so-so, tastes more like cafeteria food, selection is stale, staff seems unhappy, overall not what it used to be

I remember going to lunch at the now closed downtown location with my Father and marvelling how big and tasty the sandwiches where. On our recent visit we had lunch here twice and were not disappointed. I'd recommend the half sandwich - these are HUGE. Both the apple turnover and apple fritter were top notch. The fritter was four thicks... More

I don't live in Syracuse any more and it's been years since I've been here. I remember huge sandwiches piled on with meat. Same again today. It's great to know that something's change , but Danzers didn't . Service was wonderful too. Mmmmm!

Danzer's was always a standby for lunch when I was working and it hasn't lost its touch in the years since I retired. Enjoyed a lunch there with friends this week and everyone enjoyed their food -- Red Reuben (my personal favorite), Reuben, hot roast pork, hot roast beef and a very large Julienne salad. Get the half-sandwich unless you... More

My husband and I decided we wanted German food for dinner. Danzer's is the only remaining German restaurant in the Syracuse area. We could use another! While we were promptly seated, it took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come over to our table and ask us if we wanted anything to drink. While waiting for our drinks, another... More

Good beer selection. Sandwich (ham/cheese) was decent but the fries were undercooked. They fixed it immediately. The place does have some character but could use some upgrading. I will be back.
