If you order from the authentic menu, you still get Americanized food. The hot and sour seafood soup was quite old and had a bad fish smell. The other dishes tasted similar to other Americanized food you get from most Chinese restaurants-not much flavor. Truly delicious authentic Chinese food can be had at the Red house in Binghamton.

I was wary when my friend wanted to have Chinese food in Syracuse but this place looked like it had good reviews. It's a small, family-owned operations and everyone is very nice. A small menu, but also specials on the board in both English and Chinese, which is a good sign for it being somewhat authentic. Service is fast and... More

In our continuing quest for decent Chinese food while on the road, we finally hit gold! When we sat down, we were given a small plate of slightly spicy, very tasty daikon radish slices, in addition to the usual wonton strips w/orange sauce. We ordered off the Chinese menu (which somehow they knew we wanted). Starters were Shanghai spring rolls... More

A friend of mine recommended this to us a while ago. We make a special trip from Auburn regularly. food is excellent. the owner and his wife make you feel at home. every time we leave there we always say we love those people. I recommend the shredded pork with garlic sauce. We were there on a Wednesday night and... More

It's worth the drive to get to this little, out-of-the-way place in Mattydale. Specials are written on marker boards in both Mandarin and English, and menus are available in both languages as well. Best bets: Steamed vegetable dumplings with FRESH veggies, chicken-chunk-and-tofu casserole (delicious!), and the sauteed seafood platter. No sodium overload as with other Chinese food chains. The orange... More

We had dinner at China Road tonight with our daughter. My husband had take out from them about a year and a half ago and really enjoyed the "Orange Flavor Chicken". I had the orange chicken myself and he had the beef with scallions. The orange chicken was just the right amount of spice and was delicious (just about the... More

Place has no atmosphere, although the website makes it look quite elegant, but the food is worth the trip. There is your standard Chinese fare, but also a more traditional menu which contained dishes I was too conservative to try but sounded fascinating. I had the Ruby Chicken, which was good but too hot for my palate these days; husband... More

The best Chinese restaurant period in Central New York. The owner comes from NYC and brought it up here. No if, and or but... The best Chinese Restaurant Upstate New York.

You can get really traditional Chinese food here. Just order the chef's recommendations. Not as spicy as we expected. An old waiter was very funny and treated as well. Overall, it will be a good choice.
