If you go here expecting the best waffles ever...you may also enjoy White Castle as the best hamburger ever. It may well be, but usually only if you are a little tipsy. In that case, I can see where this may well be the best place to eat, ever. If you are sober, it is a good place to eat...it's... More

I went here with my family for breakfast on a recent trip we took to Syracuse. The decor is super funky although walking downstairs to enter was a little unnerving for my kids. Crazy waffle choices and combinations. You place your order, pay and wait to pick it up when ready. It was a bit crowded so we had to... More

I hit Syracuse every so often for business, and have wanted to get here for dinner after seeing it on the food network. Close to the University there is metered parking on the street that you do not need after 6pm. There were pan-handlers on the street that would try to help people parallel park, and then beg for money.... More

My hubby and I stopped here just as school was starting so the wait was long but worth it. They have board games around to kill some time if you don't want to talk to each other the whole time. My husband had chicken and waffles. He really liked it especially the spicy syrup that went with it. I had... More

We escaped a wild downpour and retreated to Funk n' Waffles for brunch. We were sopping wet, (like many others caught by the storm) but greeted warmly. The place has lots of atmosphere, every wall a different color, menu themed to musical legends, real 45's decorating the counter, etc. Two of the guests were making their first visit, always fun... Omg the best waffles I have ever tasted and that includes my grandma's (sorry grandma). You can tell they use the best quality everything. I had the chicken wings + waffle with the hot sauce/maple syrup stuff which I wasn't sure about but which turned out to be the best thing ever. I still dream of it sometimes. I thought... More

I thought this place was going to be special after seeing a clip about it on TV. The funky music and that it was in a basement seemed like it would be very cool, but not so much, for me anyway. I ordered chicken n'waffles. What I got was a plain waffle with 5 fried chicken wings along side. The... More

We headed to Funk 'n Waffles for breakfast on our recent trip to Syracuse. They had a wide variety of waffles to choose and it took a bit of time to make a decision. I went with the sweet side of the menu and went with the Earth, Wind. and Fire which is a whole wheat waffle with bananas and... More

Strange location, in a basement, but very cool atomsphere for a Waffle House. Employees were very nice and let us take our time. Food was good and had many different waffles to chose from. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd go back for sure!

I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy but a little dry and the buttermilk waffle was okay but nothing special. It actually tasted a little bit sour from the homemade buttermilk used. I like my waffles crispy on the outside but light and fluffy inside the way Belgian waffles would be and can only be achieved by using... More
