Great waffles

Food was great, service was self serve which includes taking your plates and cutlery to their bins which was very unusual. Area of restaurant was very creepy would not go there at night. Saw this restaurant on diners, drive-ins and dives which was the reason we gave it a try.

We just love going to local dives. Funk N Waffles is downstairs out of the way in an alley where they serve waffles with a variety of toppings. Really good breakfast and fun atmosphere

Funk N Waffles is a place that serves waffles in a variety of ways. The waffles are average. The topping list is fairly extensive, which is great for everyone who wants processed turkey or spinach on their waffle. They also had more traditional things such as strawberry compote, etc. I had a side of bacon that was edible, but far... More

So many choices, I wish I had a bigger stomach. Great waffles, plenty of other breakfast options( sandwiches and what not). Fixing a hangover or heading out on a long drive it's a perfect spot for breakfast.

Driving through Syracuse from nyc and thought we'd stop I'm for breakfast as its only 6 minutes from the interstate. It was amazing and we'll worth the stop. Compliments to the chef !

I will never go back to the South to eat chicken and waffles, after my experience at Funk n Waffles! Call it a Dive, call it a restaurant, call it what you want, just don't call me late for dinner! Especially if they are serving up some of that moist, tender buttermilk grass fed chicken!! Chicken wings taste so good,... More

Don't be fooled by the "dive" nature of the place. The place has a cool vibe and the waffles were extraordinary. I had the Jive Turkey - a waffle made from stuffing topped with mashed potatoes, turkey and gravy with a side of cranberry sauce. Outstanding. I will definitely be back.

I have never before seen such a selection of waffles! This place is easy to miss, as it is in the basement of the building it occupies. We were in Syracuse for a visit to the University and someone mentioned that one of their business graduates started this restaurant. So, we had to find it! Amazing concept and huge variety... More

Holy mother of god, these waffles. I don't even know if I can call them waffles. It's like, imagine the most decadent waffle experience you could possibly imagine--this place is going to beat that dream. You want a nutella ice cream brownie waffle? You gonna get that. You wanna fried chicken waffle? You gonna get that too. You want brie... More

We were here in connection with an accepted students reception at SU. Obviously, my wife and I are not the customary clientele. Even past 60 I remain fine with dives where I appreciate the atmosphere and food, but this was not that type of place. The music was loud, and undistinguished more than funky, and the atmosphere more worn down... More
