Description: Come by and enjoy the best Japanese food in Queens. Here at the Ariyoshi Japanese Restaurant we offer amazing service in a calm environment. Ariyoshi currently has more than 85 seats, in the form of tables as well as an 8-seat bar counter. It incorporated an izakaya menu that it now provides along with local sake from Japan. The dining area is divided into two rooms, and each has a completely different atmosphere which insures that customers will never be bored. In one of the dining rooms, in thinking about families special attention was even paid to the lighting. The larger of the two rooms can also be used for private parties on the weekend.

Before I forget, I love flounder with ginger sauce from this place. Another favorite of mine is Ariyoshi Nabe. A lot of appetizers from here that I think you should try each time you come here. You won't regret having just a few appetizers to cover your dinner if you don't feel like eating a lot. I used to like... More

Great neighborhood Japanese restaurant, that has expanded over the years, but not lost it's friendliness. I've been a customer since the beginning, and have introduced friends and family. Consistently above-average food, presentation & service.

Like many other reviewers, my boyfriend and I have been eating at Ariyoshi for years because we enjoy the delicious food and friendly staff. The rolls taste fresh and are given in generous portions. Another recommended dish is the Kijidon and Udon special (salad, udon soup, teriyaki meat dish and icecream), which is always savory and filling. I also have... More

My family and I have been enjoying meals at Ariyoshi's for years. The food is always excellent and the service is good. One of my favorites is the Ariyoshi salad...the dressing is amazing! The tempura is never greasy, the rolls are fresh and tasty, the teriyaki (especially steak) is wonderful. Always a great experience!

I have been coming here several times per year since 2002. It has always been the most authentic sushi restaurant I have found anywhere, owned and staffed by Japanese who truly understand the fundamentals. In particular, sushi and sashimi should never be cold. Ariyoshi understands this and delivers the food at the perfect temperature. The sushi boat for two includes... More

Please read this little story. It began in 1998 September. This is the first time I was in Japanese restaurant. First of all... I did not want to eat anything from here. But my friends ordered a sushi and they begged to me to try a piece! Then they persuaded to taste a little tiny pieces. I cut it up... More

I just remembered that I never reviewed this. Been going there since it was in the original location. In fact this place introduced my wife to Japanese food. 25 years later, she's still addicted. Anyway, never, never had a bad meal, and I think I tried everything.

I have been to many sushi restaurants and nothing compares to Ariyoshi. My daughter began to eat sushi at the age of 4. She will be 21 in a month and she still LOVES this place. They are always consistent. The food is always fresh. The staff is friendly and genuine. What more can one ask for? :)

I was told that the food was "traditional/home-cooked," but I hope that isn't used as an excuse for "poor presentation." The menu is chaotic and unclear, the food was tasteless and did not leave any lasting impression on me (except that it wasn't too expensive) and the decor is old and uncomfortable. The staff was also distracted.
