We love Mexican food, though much is tasteless and dumbed down for the American palette. Tequilla Sal y Limon is a cut above, though not perfect. The margarita's are quite good, and have a kick. The chips and salsa are very nice. They have some dishes that aren't your typical enchiladas and I suggest you go there. The shrimp dish... More

The food here is good. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is the size of a matchbox, and can get cramped. Prime time waits are typically 20 minutes, but there's really no place to wait so the entry gets really cramped. At an off time, this could be very good place. At prime time, prepare to feel like a... More

We had dinner here again last night. My date had the shrimp fajitas and I had the vegetable burritos combination plate. Both were excellent. Sometimes I get the Mole Poblano with chicken-also fabulous! The chips and salsa to start are always warm chips and freshly made salsa. The interior is interesting-the restaurant feels like it was originally designed to be... More

Had a decent meal - was a little pricey for what you get. Okay though not what expected. More money than I thought it would be.

I can't believe that people are saying this is the best Mexican food around. It is okay, but extremely overpriced for what you get. $15 for an enchilada? Really??

I am a chef and I have eaten at all the Mexican restaurants in Suffern and found this one to be the tastiest. The size of the appetizer was pretty substantial. I generally don't care for most Mexican restaurants rice and beans but found this restaurants to be very good. Service was very good too. I cant wait to return... More

Suffern NY apparently has a sizeable Hispanic population and also has a surprising number of Mexican and other Central and South American restaurants as well. On a previous visit two years ago, we had a phenomenal meal with excellent service at Hacienda Don Miguel. However, in view of several recent lackluster Trip Advisor reviews of that establishment, we opted to... More

Not only was the food delicious and nicely presented, the restuarant decor was extremely inviting, comfortable--beaufiful wood ceilings & walls. Our party consisted of 4 ol' high school girl friends. We each commented on the lightness of our dinners, meaning they didn't sit heavy once consumed. Menu offered interesting dishes beyond the typical. Margaritas were praised as the best they've... Very nice small, quaint, quiet Mexican restaurant -- and yes, authentic. I have no idea why a few people say this is not authentic, but, it is. Would you get the same exact dishes in various parts of Mexico? Well, probably not as there are regional and even more specific favorites, flairs, etc. Regardless, this is good food, in a... More
