Seems like the food may sit around a bit … sometimes it is better than others. I stopped going here because of this.
We will be making this part of our day biking trips. The food was authentic Israeli. If you want NYC, then you're looking for the wrong taste. The falafels were fabulous and the bagels, very Israeli. My husband and I loved it and found the staff wonderful. It's the real thing.
This bagel store is mostly a takeout having only a few tables. Their coffee is good and bagels the same. We really liked their Jalapeno cream cheese which was flavorful and different from most bagel stores. They do feature sandwiches and other fast food items but we have only had their bagels.
These are the best bagels around, and don't pass up the humus. The selection is vast and in a taste test you would think these are New York City bagels.
So the bagels are okay, but not New York City bagels, but better than most places. Food is great. Some of the staff is abrasive, which is why I'm actually very intimidated about coming in more often. But David is very sweet.
This place does not use real eggs. Only Egg Substitute. I asked for Egg White only on a bagel and they said they only used pre packaged eggs. Not to mention, this little store is in the heart of farm land with a farm stand less than a mile away. Why would they not be using local products?
I asked for an egg and cheese bagel and they microwaved the eggs. When I asked the owner if the eggs were microwaved, he said yes. I told him that was disgusting and he said "Oh well." My boyfriend ordered cream cheese on his bagel and it was apprently made fresh but tasted of sour milk.
