Perfect atmosphere & food!

Sushi was tasty & fresh & the spicy tuna roll was nicely filled. Tempura was cooked to perfection. Mushroom soup actually had lots of mushroom! Next time I must try the udon soup, looked very good. The decor was nicely done making you feel like you were in Japan & not a nightclub.

I consider myself somewhat of a Sushi snob. A friend recommended this place in a strip mall in Staten Island on Amboy Avenue. This place was shockingly good. The best Sushi I have ever had in my life. My girlfriend is a chef and tough to please as well. She raves about this place and can't wait to go back.... More

This place has really Good rolls according to my Wife and kids. I don't eat seafood. Chicken teriyaki is good as well. I would've given it 5 stars but there is a Language barrier. We couldn't understand everything that was being said.

Fresh, generous, innovative and top-quality. Its all about local sushi and rolls. Establishment is quite basic but food and service are great. Recommended.

I went to the Hokkaido Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar in Glenmont, NY, NOT the one listed here in Staten Island. Being allergic to fish and seafood, I was naturally hesitant but it was my daughter's birthday and she wanted to go there. We chose to have the food prepared at the grill, right in front of us, watching... More

Have been here a number of times. First to note is the welcome feeling from owners, Michele and her brother Andy. The creativity along with freshness is the key here. Baby shrimp with mango and a honey cilantro sauce! That a mouthful. Excites the senses on every level... Sushi pizza (no mozzarella here). Just fish fish fish. Great. All of... More

Went there with friends, and now even the best sushi I had in my town in NJ seems much less impressive than the ones in this place! Very fresh fish, creative rolls/appetizers, great customer service (they will personalize anything for you) BYOB too!

The food has always been great. Everything always fresh and the staff always very kind. However since the popularity of the restaurant grew, the prices significantly increased. The food is still great, I just don't go as often anymore.
