My wife and I visited the restaurant for my birthday. The waitress was very pleasant and helped me pick out a beer I would like. She recommended the perfect selection. We ordered 2 appetizers. The potato pancakes were delicious. The Nurnberger style sausage dish (forgot the exact name) was just okay. Tasted more like breakfast sausage with a good potato... More

I travel to Germany at least couple of times a year and love German food. Found this restaurant in Google and was extremely DISSAPPOINTED. Wiener schnitzel was made a day before - for 100%-taste of it worse than meat in cheapest fast food place, traditional german pasta heated in microwave and red cabbage sweet... Felt pain in my stomach for... More

One of NYC's best German/Bavarian restaurants. Great imported beers on tap. Authentic dishes served by an uber friendly staff. Try the beer garden in summer months for an even more authentic Bavarian twist. It is worth the trip to Staten Island from the other boroughs (or anywhere else). You will not be disappointed!

A quaint neighborhood German/Bavarian restaurant. I've eaten there several times. It is not very big, but long and narrow with a large collection of beer steins and of course, beers! Everything I have eaten tbere were good. I thought the saurbratten was a bit to sweet but still good. Their homemade sauerkraut is exceptionally good! The potato dumplings are large... More

I come here when friends are in town to show them a good time. The food is worth and take the service is excellent and it is a well run establishment. I usually think I will only stay for an hour or so but it is easy to spend an entire night eating drinking and hanging out with the patrons... More

It was almost a 40 min detour but boy was it orth the while !! It was 3h30pm and we could still choose from the lunch menu.. Great sausages and sauerkraut and... great German... More

I'm usually limited to what I can order, as several foods are a bit salty for my taste. I went here on a recommendation of a friend, and glad I did. My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night around 6PM. Needless to say, the place was packed (always a good sign). We waited about 10 minutes for... More

It is hard to find food this good in Manhattan! And forget about finding the beer anywhere else. Looking at the beer list, we had no idea what to get. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, knew every single beer on the list, and gave an excellent recommendation. You know they take pride in their selection when they will bring you... More

You feel like a regular here. Great German food and beer, courteous staff and comfortable surroundings. They will open their outdoor beer garden this month. A great venue except for the cigarette smoke from the bar area.

Great bar, great beer- love the outdoor patio, even though it closes early. Food is German, don't expect any substitutes.
