Oh my goodness this is the greatest Italian Restaurant I have ever eaten at. That is from Naples to Roma to Palermo. The food is cooked to order. And the atmosphere is slow and easy. For the greatest experience In Home cooking, don't pass this up when in the NYC area.

Following a long day's drive we were happy to find this restaurant within a couple of blocks of our hotel. Because it was 9:00 p.m. on a week night when we arrived, there were not many diners, but those who were there appeared to be locals who felt quite at home. The waitstaff contributed to the welcoming atmosphere. We had... More

A sad occasion took my brother and me back to Staten Island last Sunday, so we decided that a stop at a place with good memories was in order after the wake. I had booked Basilio's in 2004 to celebrate my brothers 50 Birthday. The decision was made based on the decor of ship memorabilia, mostly of the Italian Line... More

This little restaurant hidden on a dead end court a stone's throw away from the Verazzano Bridge is new on my best Italian food list. I held a retirement dinner for my with and 25 boisterous friends and family. The wait staff worked two other parties that night bouncing from one table to another. The appetizers for this dinner were... More

Last week I had lunch at Basilio's for the first time in several years. I had moved off Staten Island about 20 years ago and occasionally do make my way back to visit family but don't always get a chance to dine out. Basilio's is one of those places that reminds me of my Italian grandparents homes; it is warm... More

Basilio's has become a family tradition. Whether an impromptu family get-together or a true occasion, like a graduation or birthday, Basilio's does not disappoint. I am currently living out of state in an area that is sadly deficient in good Italian good, so a trip home to Staten Island and dinner with my family at Basilio's is always eagerly anticipated.... The Basilio Inn is a classic. Inside and out it's a throwback to a simpler time. Food is well prepared and delicious. Our server was very polite and helpful. We had a very enjoyable dinner her. Recommended.

Basilio Inn is a quaint little restaurant on a dead end street in Staten Island. My husband called for reservations and as soon as we arrived we were seated. We were given our choice of three tables to choose from which I thought was very nice. The staff was efficient and apologized that our entrees would be a little delayed... More
