Good German Food and Bavarian Beerhaus Atmosphere

This was our first time dining at Killmeyers. It is a funky looking restaurant with a Bavarian Beer Hall decor and a great looking bar. The beer selection is ample and the crowd looked like a neighborhood hangout. While the main dining room may need a little cleaning touch-up and the German music... read more

This was our first time dining at Killmeyers. It is a funky looking restaurant with a Bavarian Beer Hall decor and a great looking bar. The beer selection is ample and the crowd looked like a neighborhood hangout. While the main dining room may need a little cleaning touch-up and the German music gets tired after a while, the food... The onion rings were really good the pastrami was pretty bad and the soda was flat I know some people might not care about the soda but that's what I like service was good and friendly I will go back to try the burger

The special black bean and pork soup was excellent. Potato pancakes were cooked perfectly and very authentic. Unfortunately the main courses weren't very tasty. In fact unless a generous amount of salt was used, the meats were flavorless. Not sure what coating was used on the Wiener schnitzel but it was too much and tasted like Japanese bread crumbs (panko).... More

The food is freshly prepared. Start off with hot pretzel with a hot mustard. Everything we have had on the menu is cooked perfectly. Great beers on tap for a fair price. It feels like you are out of New York in a small town village. Love the moose head. This is fresh food nothing is frozen. Fun place for... More

Having come from German ancestry, my husband treated me to dinner @ Killmeyer's Old Bavaria Inn. I have not been to this restaurant in a few years. I have very high standards when it comes to German cusine. I loved it. I had rouladin, a beef dish with red cabbage & spetziel, a German egg noodle. We had a Mushroom... More

This place is on a spot that has housed a restaurant (or saloon) since the '50's... the 1850's. With a bunch of German beers and craft beers on tap, with near a hundred brands in bottles, if you like beer, you'll love this place. The food is very fresh and very good. The bread basked here is different -- it... More

Place was much larger than it looks on the outside. Interior definitely added to the experience. We went early on a Friday evening which was a holiday, so place was very quiet. Had a fantastic waitress told us about all the entertainment they have including Sunday afternoons. Huge selection of beers, etc. Just personally for us, the food was nothing... More

I thought Staten Island had only chain restaurants, and Italian and Chinese fare. However, Killmeyers is a unique spot, very good food, excellent beer. AND if you are there in nice weather, they have an outdoor garden, just like the traditional Biergarten in Germany, where you can eat and drink. Very nice surprise!!

If you looking for a old type authentic German restaurant this is your place... The decor it looks like it's from 1900 very rustic the waitresses and waiters also dress the part... If you looking for German cuisine I would recommend it. . The beer selection is huge

Haven't been here in about 10+ years. What a fun place with lots of traditional & genuine German atmosphere & food. Kevin, our server, was extremely helpful & efficient. The Weiner schnitzel was absolutely delicious - very moist & tasty. If you love strudel, the apple strudel is out of this world. We enjoyed our lunch so much & hope... More
