Step out of NYC's hurly-burly and into the sights & sounds & tastes of the Big Easy. Order Gumbo, Frisee salad. Po Boy sandwich, surrounded by movie posters and Mardi Gras beads. The drinks are fun. Experiment! Get lucky and arrive on a live music night. This is where I go for comfort when I can't get out of town.

Have been going here for years and love it, but the last year has seen the entrees become much less tasty and less well prepared. However, we have not experienced the same problem with appetizers and desserts and drinks. We have been very disappointed when we decided to try the entrees again with the same result. Maybe they got a... More

One of the best in NYC, This wonderful, unique place has a special Cajun/ Creole bent. My visit last week included the Crawfish Boil appetizer, in sherry cream sauce with a nice head of pepper ($10), followed by the Crawfish Etouffee, over fettucine. I almost changed my order but glad I didn't. Love the little morsels of these Cajun lobsters. The... More

My friends and I dined at the Bayou Restaurant this past Sunday. I chose the Elba Blues entree and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I have eaten in probably hundreds of restaurants all over the world but this meal was just spectacular!!!. Simple, elegant but with so much flavor. The pork... More

Found this place on trip advisor and it looked interesting. My wife and I took my mom for dinner on a Sunday night. Great little place with a nice atmosphere. The service was great. The food was even better. Nice portions with fabulous taste. I had the sweet potato fritters, my wife the mini tacos and my mom had the... More

Definitely a New Orleans type style food. I've only been here for lunch but it is SO delicious!! You definitely have to order the fritters for an appetizer!!! So glad I live close. I recommend added Bayou to your list of must tries!

As part of the Staten Island Restaurant Crawl Bayou set up a table outside of the restaurant, cloth tablecloth, silver chafing dishes, waiters dressed professionally, serving samples of their always delicous food. It gave the restaurant crawleres a chance to stand around, talk with each other as we enjoyed what was offered. Bayou is another of my favorite restaurants as... More

I'm old enough to remember when this place was called Twin Taverns. We used to go there for pizza, but it is totally rennovated and the food is great! We were with family but it could be a great couple's restaurant as well. Very authentic fare.
