great for a date or with a small group of friends

Had two great meals here. Appetizers are different and tasty. Try the alligator fritters for sure, and any of the beef entrees. Had a seafood special that was off the hook as well. A must for a great, not-the-same old dinner. Good wine list, too, and awesome cocktails.

I usually visit on or around Mardi Gras time. Having family in New Orleans, eating at Bayou brings back fond memories of family dinners. While I haven't had everything on the menu, I have had a variety of items. Alligator bites and Bourbon St. Crab cakes are my favorite appetizers. Big Easy pork chop ,crawfish ettouffe and blackened catfish are... More

We have been to this restaurant several times, and it always has been consistently good. Our waitress, Desiree, was very attentive and professional, and offered excellent suggestions. We shared an appetizer and each had an entree, one fish, one meat, from the specials of the day, both excellent. They offer several different sangrias at a moderate price, and the ones... More

I have yet to try some of the spots on Bay Street, but so far this place is hands down fantastic. My girlfriend and I have eaten here four or five times and we've never been disappointed in the least. Cool atmosphere, good service, and really great food at legit prices. I highly recommend that you try it out.

Having the only New Orleans cuisine in Staten Island NY, the Bayou has a great Mardi Gras party ! They have a special menu just for the day with my favorite Huitres a la Rockefeller ( Oysters Rockefeller). They also have a crawfish boil and seafood gumbo. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection & delicious. Alongside we had the famous... More

Step out of NYC's hurly-burly and into the sights & sounds & tastes of the Big Easy. Order Gumbo, Frisee salad. Po Boy sandwich, surrounded by movie posters and Mardi Gras beads. The drinks are fun. Experiment! Get lucky and arrive on a live music night. This is where I go for comfort when I can't get out of town.

Have been going here for years and love it, but the last year has seen the entrees become much less tasty and less well prepared. However, we have not experienced the same problem with appetizers and desserts and drinks. We have been very disappointed when we decided to try the entrees again with the same result. Maybe they got a... More
