A marvelous experience

This restaurant is a true gem! We were greeted warmly, served well and treated like family. The 'Nona' idea is brilliant! We thoroughly enjoyed every morsel as well as the wine which was well researched and priced reasonably. We can't stop talking about how wonderful our meal was! Not to be missed!

We had homemade pasta cooked with love by Nonna Teresa from Agrigento Sicily. The food was so so good and authentic and the entire staff was friendly and professional. Cozy and charming place with amazing wine. We made reservations the same day but i wouldn't do that again, i would be sure to reserve at least a week or two... More

Nice restaurant with a rotating menu based on the Nonna of the evening. Each night a different grandma is in the kitchen -we had a nice meal with a small selection of complementaty appetizers to start. The entrees we had were the rabbit & quail. Both equally good. Excellent bottle of wine. Small place but very welcoming. The biggest obstacle... More

Excellent homestyle cooking with friendly service. Reasonably priced and good value. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited Enoteca Maria for an Anniversary dinner. The restaurant is small and intimate. We made reservations a few weeks in advance. We were seated at the bar and it was an awesome place to sit. We had a great view of the Nonna cooking and also enjoyed chatting up the bartender/ owner. The food was quite possibly the best... More

Overall I would have to say, we were disappointed with this restaurant. To begin, we arrived in a torrential downpour. We were met at the door by a young man-not sure who he was but I don’t think he was a waiter. I told him we had a reservation for 6 people and he made a face, asking what time... More

I have been here twice. It is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant on Staten Island where a cadre of Nonnas do the cooking. The owner, Jody, came up with the idea when his grandmother died. He recruited a group (12 or so) of grandmothers who were also great cooks to rotate the menu and kitchen duties in his restaurant. On my... More

Such a fantastic concept. We heard about Enoteca Maria on NPR and decided we had to make the trek over. The ferry was very easy to catch from Manhattan, and then it was just a short (uphill) walk to EM from the ferry terminal. We had a fantastic dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our "Nonna" was obviously a... More
