Awesome Authentic Mexican Cusine, but pathetic customer service

I have had one of the best authentic mexican meals ever in this restaurant. They also serve these small starters between the main course and the starters and a complimentary dessert as well. I have traveled to Mexico many times and real Mexican food is not expensive . I felt like everything was smothered in cheese and salt. A shot of tequila was $18 bucks are you kidding !!! We will not be back !!

Went to this Spring Valley mainstay in a group of 9 ranging in age from 7 to 74 on the recommendation of my brother-in-law. This venerable spot has a long history and I was very curious about what I would find and, unfortunately, I was ultimately disappointed. To start with, my wife made a reservation over the phone for 9... More

We try not to spend much time in Spring Valley, especially the area right around this place, but friends told us to try it. It's not a very big place, so the tables fill up fast. We've always gone on the earlier side of dinner and not had to wait. They bring chips and salsa as soon as you sit.... More

like Chinese food, the food you will get in so called Mexican restaurants, including this one bears no resemblence to anything eaten in that country. mexican cuisine is a world class cuisine with many regional variations, none of which you will eat here, made with ingredients never found in Mexico. if you are a fan of tasteless dishes smothered in sour cream and cheddar... Terrible lunch service. 1 server for at least 8 tables. Worst of all was when my business partner who really enjoyed the salsa asked for a to go container. Was told by server No, "they need this in back". Are they serious ? Do they recycle the Salsa ? Never again

Hubby finally got me to go and all i can say is "i told myself so". Always trust your gut. There's just something about this place. 1. Lousy greeting. No hello/evening, we got a "u gonna go to the bar? " We were with 2 kids. Well hello to us. 2. The restaurant is the loudest i have ever been... More

My wife and I used to go here regularly 30+ years ago when we were newlyweds. We happened to be in the area and decided to stop in for old time's sake. The restaurant is quaintly decorated, the service excellent and the food superb. The menu is extensive and in addition to the usual burrito, enchilada, taco, tostada, tamale and... More

Love the ambiance. Live music sometimes. Very up and happening. Not the place for a quiet dinner, tho. Food is always good-and very fast. Combination plates a sure-fire thing. And, the as-much-as-you want chips and fresh salsa (yummm) at start and the additional free small dessert (banana fritter and cream) make it a VERY good deal, price-wise.
