Expensive but very nice

We went for lunch. You walk past a typical Italian gelato and coffee bar and head back to the fine dining area. All the dishes were amazing. What a delight! On my first visit to the Hamptons I loved the atmosphere the ocean views and the happening atmosphere. But lunch here made my first weekend in the Hamptons even more memorable. The sign said open since 1936. You have to be good to stay in business that long and remain on top of your game. Delicious Italian... More

We went to this restaurant as a family and got the chance to taste a variety of food including grilled salmon, ravioli, pasta, and various salads. The food was excellent, service was very good, atmosphere was quiet nice. Variety of wines were limited, although the selection offered was quiet sufficient. Expect to pay around 80 USD/person (glass of wine included).... More

Summary: I don't get it. The locals rave about this place. It's okay, but not worthy of its reputation. The food is okay, the staff is okay, the prices are slightly north of okay, the interior decor is okay. Okay? Review: When you enter this restaurant, you go through a retail counter area with cakes, cookies and desserts of one... More

Truest taste of Italy out east. A seen or be seen coffee joint especially summer weekends. You never know what movie star may show up or those who just pretend to be movie stars!

The little sandwiches they sell to go are the best you can get. I loved the seafood sandwich and the egg salad. The gelato is great. The coffee bar is a cute little place for an espresso. Great for dinner too.

While VERY expensive, well worth the money! Service is excellent, food is wonderful. Their pastas are wonderful! They pour a good drink! Wine list is extensive with some reasonable choices. We generally split a pasta and each order an entrée - enough food for the two of us and then we bring some gelato home! Can't wait to go back... More

I've been lucky enough to dine at Sant Ambroeus several times while vacationing in the Hamptons. This is my #1 lunch stop and a great dinner venue also. If you're in town and feel like a quick (but fantastic) bite to eat, their stand up bar has a great selection on small sandwiches and great Rose house wine. The Pescatore... More

Sant'Ambroeus has been an institution in Milano for more than 80 years (and it's still there). The Southampton location gives you almost the same feeling as the original. It's not on the cheap side, but the quality is there. But when you feel to splurge a little, this is the place.

This is the best place to eat if you want great service, food, capachino, pasta and ambiance. Home made pasta is to die for. Always a 10 and never disappoints!
