Unfortunately readers Barristers closed its door recently and is up for sale. Years of great service and food for both the locals and visitors to the area this Southampton staple for so many years will be sorely missed

Not a must when in Southampton however, if you are in town and want to have lunch, why not? Burger is ok and salads are usually good. They have a few tables outside which are a great spot to enjoy lunch and see what is going on in town! For coffee or dessert, go next door to Sant'Ambroeus.

After many years as a staple on Main Street, Southampton Barrister's is now closed. One always hates to see an "institution" disappear.

My friends and family are really going to miss this place when it's gone next summer. We have been coming here forever. It's the best place in Southampton for casual dining. Their burgers are great, their salads are fresh and their key lime pie, if you're lucky enough to be there when it's available is better than any bakery. Their... More

The prime rib 2 for 1 special caught the eye of my wife and I as we walked through town. The prime rib was cooked just as I asked, but had so much au jus I couldn't cut it without fear of getting soaked. My wife's veal was a bit chewy, but tasty. The sidewalk seating made for great people... More

We went there for dinner. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but the orange sauce was insipid and the rice cold. One in our party had the freshly cooked calamari that was all breading and another the steak which was tough. The servers were pleasant but scattered. Had to ask twice for a refill of ice tea and the salmon came... More

Went there when it opened at eleven a.m. with our one year old. They were courteous and accommodating with his food. The onion soup was delicious as was the salad. It was very quiet and nice. Would recommend this for lunch.

Thevpeople that wrote good reviews about Barrister's food obviously have no idea what they are talking about. We had burgers and ordered pasta with tomato sauce for our little one: the pasta was generously overcooked, the tomato sauce came right out of the can ( is there something easier to cook from scratch then tomato sauce?!), burgers were very average,... Went for a burger with a friend after work. The food was good and the waitress was hip and friendly. I liked the place. It was clean and the tables were not too crowded near each other. I will be back because it seems like a good watering hole for locals.
