When I want to eat good beef, I go to Shippy's - plain and simple. You can rant and rave about any other steak house and you'd probably be right, if it's a big porterhouse that you want to sink your teeth into or impress friends with the high prices you feel obligated to pay. But Shippy's always offers a... More

We go to shippys on average once a week. Love the food and people . The service is stellar, Zena the warrior waitress is a hoot ! My favorite is the chicken codon bleu. Jim loves the lamb chops! Bring your appetite and leave your attitude!

We specifically went to eat here because they advertised authentic German food. We came during lunch and were seated at a table in the back. The atmosphere is dim and cozy. There are a variety of dishes to select from and we had the Bratwurst (with kraut) and the Weinerschnitzel. My boyfriend, who is from Germany, said that the food... More

Great selection of beer and German foods. Nice atmosphere. Filet, while a good cut of meat, was greatly overcooked (med rare = med well, apparently). Rest of the food was quite good. Bartender was surly. I would give it another try, however.

A staple in Southampton. Has been around a long time. Been going there for many years. Dated atmosphere but friendly and attentive staff. A good fall/winter restaurant. Dark interior.... Food is hit or miss.

My wife and I visited Shippy's after spending the day with family in Southampton. Well, Shippy's seems to be a small niche German bar that serves beer to regulars ( and food if asked to ) That being said,we had no issues with the service- as for the food, was just ok. Having little to no experience with old world... More

I still have trouble swallowing the prices in the Hampton's (I've been coming to southampton since the 70s so am familiar with the why/what/who, etc.). But, when I see Jaeger Schnitzel for almost $30, I'm not getting it. I did need red meat this night so when I asked for a burger, which wasn't on the dinner menu, the wonderful... More

I will start by saying that the staff was very friendly, that the local actually does have a German restaurant ambiance to it and that it has easy parking a few steps away. However, the place does not offer the cleanest tableware nor does it offer fabulous food. Quite plain and expensive for what it is. We were seated right... More
