A bar/restaurant to not miss....

Here at Shippys you can enjoy wonderful German/American food (the wursts are the best around) and lots of local flavor of the Hamptons. This is not a touristy spot, but finding it is a terrific surprise for a foodie. The steaks are super, the pork amazing and the schnitzel is terrific. Hang out... read more

We went for lunch during their Polish Fest and the food was very good. I tried their stuffed cabbage entree and hubby had a stuffed, rolled beef dish, both with the mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Large portions but so good we both cleaned our plates (except for the cabbage). Grandpa enjoyed the veal meatloaf and had enough leftovers for... More

Love this restaurant. Ate at the bar. Plenty of local people who can give you stories of the area. Food is always good. Had Roast Beef BLT on Pumpernickel. Excellent. All sandwiches are pretty huge Been there for dinner and the steaks are great. If you sit at the bar Donny will take care of you.

Consistently great German/American food with a home town feel. The wait staff is welcoming and quite witty! Liver and onions, YES! Steak, a hefty portion and properly cooked! Mashed potatoes, YES! Knockwurst and all the other Wursts. Excellent draft beers. Desserts perfect with Irish coffee. No reservations necessary HOWEVER this is a very popular place for the locals and they... More

Have been coming here for over 14 years. Food is consistent. Delicious, hot and good portions. Service is awesome - Thank you Debbie, you are the best. Has an authentic cozy neighborhood atmosphere without all the "bling". You can't eat "bling". The "bling" is in the food. They have redone the booth seating, table setting (glass table top 2/ linen... More

Loved the atmosphere for a down home feel. Specials were great with plenty of food. Unfortunately suaerbraten (VERY DRY) and red cabbage seemed to have been cooked way too long.

When I want to eat good beef, I go to Shippy's - plain and simple. You can rant and rave about any other steak house and you'd probably be right, if it's a big porterhouse that you want to sink your teeth into or impress friends with the high prices you feel obligated to pay. But Shippy's always offers a... More

We go to shippys on average once a week. Love the food and people . The service is stellar, Zena the warrior waitress is a hoot ! My favorite is the chicken codon bleu. Jim loves the lamb chops! Bring your appetite and leave your attitude!

We specifically went to eat here because they advertised authentic German food. We came during lunch and were seated at a table in the back. The atmosphere is dim and cozy. There are a variety of dishes to select from and we had the Bratwurst (with kraut) and the Weinerschnitzel. My boyfriend, who is from Germany, said that the food... More
