Have been coming here for over 14 years. Food is consistent. Delicious, hot and good portions. Service is awesome - Thank you Debbie, you are the best. Has an authentic cozy neighborhood atmosphere without all the "bling". You can't eat "bling". The "bling" is in the food. They have redone the booth seating, table setting (glass table top 2/ linen... More

Loved the atmosphere for a down home feel. Specials were great with plenty of food. Unfortunately suaerbraten (VERY DRY) and red cabbage seemed to have been cooked way too long.

When I want to eat good beef, I go to Shippy's - plain and simple. You can rant and rave about any other steak house and you'd probably be right, if it's a big porterhouse that you want to sink your teeth into or impress friends with the high prices you feel obligated to pay. But Shippy's always offers a... More

We go to shippys on average once a week. Love the food and people . The service is stellar, Zena the warrior waitress is a hoot ! My favorite is the chicken codon bleu. Jim loves the lamb chops! Bring your appetite and leave your attitude!

We specifically went to eat here because they advertised authentic German food. We came during lunch and were seated at a table in the back. The atmosphere is dim and cozy. There are a variety of dishes to select from and we had the Bratwurst (with kraut) and the Weinerschnitzel. My boyfriend, who is from Germany, said that the food... More

Great selection of beer and German foods. Nice atmosphere. Filet, while a good cut of meat, was greatly overcooked (med rare = med well, apparently). Rest of the food was quite good. Bartender was surly. I would give it another try, however.

A staple in Southampton. Has been around a long time. Been going there for many years. Dated atmosphere but friendly and attentive staff. A good fall/winter restaurant. Dark interior.... Food is hit or miss.

My wife and I visited Shippy's after spending the day with family in Southampton. Well, Shippy's seems to be a small niche German bar that serves beer to regulars ( and food if asked to ) That being said,we had no issues with the service- as for the food, was just ok. Having little to no experience with old world... More
